I got this yesterday from Godaddy Support:

Thank you for contacting Online Support.

Thank you for contacting Online Support. I understand that you are having issues accessing the administrative side of your site. We are aware of this at this time. There is an industry wide attack trying to access WordPress and Joomla administration areas and while we mitigate this attack you will not have access to these areas. Once the attack is over you will have access again and recommend that you take this time to change your administrative password. Please make sure you use a strong password.

    A strong password should contain:
    – Be 8-14 characters
    – Include small letter
    – Include capital letter
    – Include number
    – Start with a letter
    – Contain a special character that is one of the following ! @ # %

    The password CANNOT contain any of the following * ) ( – = * )

Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way.

    Regards,
    Liz D.

I was able to login to my admin panel last night and change my password. I logged in and out several times after that. But today I again cannot log in, so I’m guessing the attack is still going on. ??

I put in another ticket with godaddy (as did many others) and we now hove an official alert! https://support.godaddy.com/system-alerts/

Apparently this is an issue for godaddy users with Linux hosted sites.

Yes, I have tried on 2 different IP’s, one is my tethered cell phone, the other is my local ISP. I have ‘restarted’ them both.

One godaddy hosted wp lets me login to it, the other does not.

I have now tried reverting to the default theme and that does not help.

As suggested by godaddy: I just tried disabling all my plugins (by renaming the plugins directory via ftp and creating a new empty plugins folder) and that did not fix it.

I get the error when I try and log in to https://www.carolaskan.com. Yes, the log in page shows up, but when I try and log in from 2 different PC’s both with different IP’s I get the error messages as stated in my first post from both Firefox and IE. i.e. I get “The connection was reset. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.” from Firefox and “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage” from Internet explorer when I try and login.

My other wp blog that is hosted with godaddy does not have this issue.

    I have cleared my cache.

    That didn’t work for me.

Editted: Sorry, I guess my post wasn’t useful.
