I’m not really new to wordpress, but I am looking for the same thing. I have used both youtube and Cincopia, but I want to be able to use the wordpress facility for uploading movies. All I get is a link to the file that can then be downloaded. I want to play it on the web page that I have made.

Can’t anyone help? Why do they make that claim when it is obviously not working.

Happening to me too. So annoying. I’m always logged in, and it’s counting every page I go to.

It is definitely counting my own visits to my blog. Damn!

Is the php.ini at the top level of your site? Check and double check, I’m sure it will work.
Without it, I can’t do any auto updates. With it, they work perfectly.
I’m making my 5th wordpress blog. 3 of them have php.ini files with only those 2 lines of code. The other 2 have php.ini files with 2000 lines of code that I have no idea about! and not these 2 lines. I think I got the bigger file from my internet hosting company, and the 2 lines from someone on this forum.

Put these 2 lines:

upload_max_filesize = 128M ;
post_max_size = 128M ;

exactly, into a textEdit or notepad or simpletext file. Save it and call it php.ini

FTP the file to the top level of you site, it will allow you to do automatic updates of wp and plugins.

Can you please tell me what the ‘new widget’ is? I think I need it too!

I had forgotten to upload the php file that has the following in it:

upload_max_filesize = 128M ;
post_max_size = 128M ;

The plugin is working now.

It had to be exactly the right tables in the db. Too tired to work out which ones now. If you need to know, feel free to contact me through the web address above.

Funny thing, without changing anything, I can now put chinese characters into a post at https://www.carmeljames.com/learningChinese/ but not the title or tag line. Anyone have any idea why this might be?

If someone could assure me there IS nothing more to it than this, then I will know to move on … I will ask my host for help.

I’ve done this already on one blog, but am now looking for the instructions, because what I remember doing doesn’t work on my new blog. I know you have to go into phpMyAdmin and change many of the tables to read utf8_unicode_ci.
But there is something else that I don’t remember, sorry.
