  • I share the same issue with Rainysia. And I share as well the feeling that you guys offer little to none documentation for how to use the plugin.

    So I’m trying to work around it on my own, but I’m encountering way too many redirection loops, 404 errors, and such. Networks can’t be created for some reason, and there is no documentation as how to use the plugin correctly.

    I’m working on a fresh installation, where your plugin is the only plugin, and the only activated plugin. So no excuses here.

    Frankly I’m close to leave you a 1 star review as well. The premises of the plugin are awesome, but if it leads people in screwing their sites and database then it’s not good at all.

    Also, the support forum is pretty desolated. If you release a plugin you have to in all honesty make a minimal effort in offering the tiny bit of help to people who’re trying to use it. And so far I don’t see from you guys the necessary care.

    That’s funny. I’ve never realized that before (never used the email to login, in fact).

    I jump in, since my question may be similar.

    I need to collect statistic about and show statistic relative to a specific quiz (or a sum of all the quiz results), on a different page. In my case, the starting page for picking up the quiz to solve.

    Is that possible, perhaps via custom PHP code?

    I am having a similar issue. When I add a product on the shopping cart I’m consequently redirected to the checkout page, where the order is present accordingly.

    But if I move away from the checkout page or if I refresh, the cart becomes empty.

    Same thing happens when I try to add more than one product to the cart. On the checkout page I can only see the last added product. The cart seems to undergo a reset every time I leave the checkout page.

    Any idea of where I’m doing it wrong?

    Hello again, Brent. And thanks for your reply.

    I always have WP_DEBUG defined as true in my development, so I can see all errors. And I don’t step into production without having *all of them* fixed.

    Unfortunately in the case of your plugin there were no error messages. The screen went blank. WordPress stopped to work way before to get any debug notice.

    So, as you can see, I’m not the only one to have experienced the same issue.

    So far, it has been ignored, as you can see. Unfortunately I bet we would agree that we’re not speaking about a minimal issue here.

    I repeat, I’m grateful to the ones who contributes to the WP community. But folks, as for my personal experience this plugin can put out of game entire networks. So, please, have a more timely reaction.

    @jan I posted in the review section, because I believe it is essential that potential users will know that this plugin could wreak havoc on their site. Something that may be out of their reach to solve.

    Mine at that point was, in fact, a review, not a request for assistance.

    By the way, I notified of the issue three weeks ago.

    I’m using an other plugin now, but for what I remember it was the only plugin activated. I made few tests, in local and online, and on a fresh installation of WordPress 3.6 (multisite enabled).

    There was no way to get a debug message defining WP_DEBUG, ‘cos the site just went blank. It became also impossible to access to the Admin area. The only solution I found was to delete the plugin via FTP (or rename its folder).

    Thank you for a free plugin, but if it can potentially cause this kind of issue, I would recommend a fix as soon as possible. Or provide a clear way to get out of troubles for the ones who may fall.

    Just one more question, though. What does it happen if I uncheck the option below from within a secondary site? Does it affect all the network and the other secondary sites?

    Add sitemapindex to individual blog’s virtual robots.txt?
    If you’re on a Multi-site installation with Sub-domain enabled, each site will have its own robots.txt, sites in sub-directory will not. Please read the documentation for more info.

    Actually,
    it is something in the theme I’m developing that disables the Settings page of PBS. So I am personally the culprit.

    Thanks for suggesting me where to look at. I didn’t think about switching to an alternative theme.

    ps. I’m gonna purchase the Pro edition of BPS anyway. Cool plugin and great support. Thanks for it.

    Yes, very true.

    But honestly I’m afraid that MPM plugin hasn’t much to do with the broken Setting BPS page. Or, anyway, I can be sure about. I would say 50/50.

    Right now the BPS works, and it does an excellent job. I’m very happy with it. And I’m very up for upgrading to the Pro version. If I do, and I still will have the permission issue, will I have a bit of support in understanding where to put my hands in the dirt and fix the code?

    I did some test in local, and apparently the activation and deactivation of Multisite Plugin Manager did not disable the BPS Settings page. I just got the white screen and had to rename or delete the folder of the MPM plugin entirely to get back to the Admin area. But with no visible consequences.

    In fact, Multisite Plugin Manager gives me the white screen as well (on different Multisites online – while in local it apparently works).

    Meanwhile, thanks for your support and prompt reply.

    Unfortunately, once I deactivated Multisite Plugin Manager I noticed (few hours later) that the Settings page for BulletProof Security disappeared from the Dashboard.

    I played around creating a new super admin, or resetting user roles and capabilities even into the database via phpMyAdmin. With no luck so far.

    For the record, few hours earlier I also upgraded BulletProof Security. In fact the reason why I wanted to go to Settings for BPS was that the Admin area presented the big yellow message on top from BPS itself, reminding to do something after the update.

    Added note.

    On one of the sites where I get the white screen on the Network Admin, I had only three plugins installed:

    – Network Plugin Auditor
    – Resize images before upload
    – WordPress MU Domain Mapping

    The network is quite fresh and runs on WP 3.6.1.

    I deactivated all of them, and tried again, with the same result: the Multisite Plugin Manager throw out of service the Network Admin, and the Admin area of the primary site. Even if it’s the only plugin activated.

    I’m having a similar problem. Perhaps it is related to WooTable (module of a theme by WooThemes).
