the thing might be that it isn’t a valid plugin file. A valid plugin file has to have several headers to be seen in the admin panel and activated.

Maybe you should make a fix so that you can customize the links to be pictures/text and/or maybe have a set of really small pictures.

maybe your uploading to the wrong folder. Thats the most likely explanation
