In reply to: [Fraud Prevention For WooCommerce and EDD] Rules Do Not Work to Block OrdersOf course both “before fraud score” and “before payment checking” options are active. And I had contacted support in the past which fixed this one before, but they never carried over those fixes to new versions of the plugin. This means once they fix it, you can’t update the plugin ever.
Thank you Victoria and Michael. I can confirm my problem has been resolved. Thank you for such a speedy fix! Have a blessed day!
Email addresses are missing in the forms submitted by customers! We can only find them by admin logging into wp and viewing the wp mail logging “raw” log where the data submitted is not obfuscated by the plugin.

In reply to: [WP Mail Logging] Some resent HTML emails sent as plain textI’m having this problem too and it’s stripping out the customer supplied email address in our contact form emails. The only way we can respond to customers by email is for admin to login to the website and view the “raw” email log, adding a significant burden to our sales team and delayed responses. Hope for fix soon.
Stef, I did check the logs before creating this thread. The transaction was declined by Stripe because “transaction not allowed.”
“The bank returned the decline code transaction_not_allowed, and did not provide any other information. We recommend that your customer contact their card issuer, BANK OF AMERICA – COMMERCIAL CREDIT, for more information, or use another payment method.”
My point is customers should not be contacting us when their credit card is declined. Doing so wastes all of our time plus makes it look like our site is broke when it’s not. That’s why I want to change the wording on that vague notice from “This order cannot be paid for. Please contact us if you need assistance” to something along the lines of “Your credit card company declined this transaction. Please contact your credit card issuer for further assistance.”
Thanks for the response. As I noted Stripe logs noted the transaction was “not allowed.” I’ll post this in the Woocommerce Stripe Gateway forum since the notice provided to the customer is not core WC. Have a good day.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway] return_url missing – Stripe notifiedIn other words, 8.5.1 breaks the existing webhooks and we will have to reconfigure webhooks for each site when updating?

In reply to: [Autoptimize] Suddenly Users Accessing AO URLsI wasn’t aware of a bug in Edge, but I may disable AO as our log files are quickly filling up. I also wonder how all these unwanted requests are killing our site speed?
Here’s a user that’s active right now who is also generating all these unwanted requests:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/124.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 Edg/124.0.0.0

In reply to: [WooCommerce] More than 39 JS files are loaded on version 8.5.1Would explain why so many have reported slow and sites that time out. I haven’t made the plunge to upgrade, and probably won’t for a while until these issues get ironed out.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Why 8.5.0 version is not available to download?WC 8.5 is not secure.
“The WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting in all versions up to, and including, 8.4.0 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link. Additional Information From WooCommerce Slack: For those who are not yet aware, on Tuesday there was an issue with our release of 8.5. The problem was identified, we reverted the stable tag to 8.4 (effectively preventing 8.5 from being downloaded further) and communicated the known issue in the release notes. The issue has since been fixed. However, for the sake of comprehensive testing around the fix release and in order to address a few other minor problems, we are delaying version 8.5.1 until Monday, January 15th. We are digging into how the issue was able to be released and will be addressing this internally as necessary to prevent future disruptions. I would also like to acknowledge the general lack of communication around this issue until now. This is another area we are investigating and are hopeful to improve in the future. Thank you for your patience as we get this fully resolved.”
Why would you install 8.5.0 on six sites knowing it has a security vulnerability? 8.4 is the one that should be installed until they release 8.5.1 on Monday that fixes 8.5.0?
We haven’t upgraded because of all the bugs and emails are fine in 8.4. You may want to check your server error logs and/or install the WP Mail Logging plugin to identify errors. We also use WP Mail SMTP plugin which helps to get beyond free email provider mail filters.
Edit: It looks like they pulled 8.5, likely due to enormous bugs and site crashes.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Updating Inventory Adds Non-Breaking Spaces to Product PagesThanks for your response. Internal support at WC has the system report and login details for a staging copy to replicate the problem with all plugins disabled. I’ll mark this thread as resolved since it’s being handled outside of this forum. Thanks for your help and happy holidays!

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Updating Inventory Adds Non-Breaking Spaces to Product PagesI tried a chat in WC account, but nobody responded. Hopefully they get the full text where I referenced this thread and provided a link to the video.
Using the visual editor, each time the product page is saved a new non breaking space is added. We usually only modify the product pages to update inventory, which is why this post title referenced updating inventory.
