In reply to: False “Plugin needs update” situationThis happened to one of my sites about 4 years ago and I just left it alone since it’s more annoying than harmful. Now, a second site is experiencing the same thing. It happened both times while uninstalling and reinstalling plugins while attempting to diagnose which plugins were causing errors. I’m sure it’s leftover plugin data in the database. Someone has the answer out here.

Same here. The toggle/switch does not show on the front end.
