    Ok, well I have no idea what I did wrong before but I uninstalled WP and deleted the “subdomain” folder and re-installed WP in a new folder “subdirectory” and it all works fine now.

    Must be the folder name matters?

    oops, my bad.

    When I named the sub-directory folder it was a typo. I actually don’t have a sub-DOMAIN, that is just what the folder is called. The original domain name(URL) is https://www.thecleanersrock.com

    so in the FTP Cpanel, the webroot folder is top level. then all the others are inside that there. WP is installed inside the (typo)subdomain folder. meant for it to be subdirectory.

    hope that wasn’t too confusing. haha
