    Yeah, I’d love to upgrade, but as you can imagine with a live system including other plugins and 1000 hacks that is simply not possible.

    I can’t spend my life upgrading and updating everyday, it comes a day when you want to see that project live, you know?

    And back to the strings … yep, would have been nice though if they would have had different names, like %s, p%, x% whatever.

    What I found more than weird with the emails is that ALL placeholders are actually … one. So no matter if you replace the name, the confirmation link, the friend name or group, they are always and everywhere called by the same %s. As an user … am I supposed to find any logic in this? Unfortunatelly not. and the only explanation that comes with the plugin is smth like “try to figure it out yourself”.
    Therefore I do not understand complains about to many questions, or annoyed, fully puzzled users. As I said, a simple 1-2 paragraph explantion about how those emails were build would save everybody lots of precious time and nerves.

    Wishing you a nice day too, and thanks for your answer ??

    don’t understand what you find so negative in my tone? I just explained exactely what happened. And was not nice, no. Maybe it’s my issue, but do not really know how to put it to sound “nicer”. If the message was killed, I really meant that. The content vanished. How else you call that?

    As for the “free” issue – I also offer work for free at occasions, but I make no difference between the quality of that work and paid work. If I decided to offer it for free, I do it to the end, you know?

    Now, having a short “how to” section together with the plugin will save 70% of these questions, you know? No need to write a novel, just a few essential things …

    The only thing I figured out with those messages was … don’t dare touch the order & meaning of the placeholders from the sample messages. And do not dare add an extra s% placeholder in your message either, or it will mess up everything. As long as you limit yourself at wrapping some text around the default message, you’ll be fine.

    Thank me ??

    Ah, sounds good than ??
    Contact form 7 is surely one of the most popular form plugins (almost 7 million downloads) so … ??

    I could not find any simple paypal / form integration so far, the solution above is the closest workaround I could find.

    Fact is, one needs some sort of feedback for each paypal transaction, to know if the user paid or not. bethannon1’s idea of using the “additional setting” works great in sending the user to paypal, but it does not help with the tracking of payments.

    So yep, maybe using the thank you page could work somehow

    Would be really cool if you’d find a solution ??

    @trutka yes but going to a simple thank you page does not really help – the c7 form must send some parameters (like an unique ID for each transaction) to pay pal, and paypal needs to send back a feedback into that c7 database for ex. matching the same ID and update some field in the database.

    I have no clue how else could that be achieved. If anyone has ideas, a bunch of us would appreciate to hear them ??

    There are those paypal IPNs but I have no idea how to implement that. Still hope someone has some simple idea for us ??

    and a bit better, with no extra-page needed ??

    use this link which you will get from paypal, after creating your BuyNow button there:

    on_sent_ok:”location.replace(‘https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=YourBuyNowButtonID’);”

    which redirects the user directly to paypal for payment ??

    The only issue which I would also love to see solved, would be to also get some feedback in the contact form 7 database (if using that extra database for c7 plugin) from paypal, that the user really paid …

    Anyone having some ideas?

    wow! I think that broke the witchcraft spell, you know?
    I have my posts displaying now !

    Thanks wizard ??

    Hi,
    Can you for example clarify the mistery sorrounding the display of ONLY 5 posts (custom type) no matter how many I select in the settings !??! (I did select for ex 10!)
    The first 5 posts are ok, the 6th however is broken, instead of the thumbnail, the “it’s loading” image is displayed and of course the whole information correspoding to the 6th article is not pulled at all in any way.

    I have inserted your codes (as I said, the fists 5 posts from that post-type seem to be OK) starting with the 6th is’t all broken ..
    Wicked nr. 6 or what !??!

    Thanks

    This plugin has the CREPPIEST explanation ever about how to use it all!
    Guess it was done on purpose? Cause I cannot think of anything else ..

    I could not find ONE single line in the FAQ about HOW on Earth could one display these custom posty types & taxonomies on the page! Is this not all that is all about, dear authors?

    So for this, this plugin did not earn even one single star – it’s simply useless, and makes people waste time on it for nothing …

    (@candy2012)

    that would be great, cause otherwise it looks like great stuff!

    and where’s the code an affiliate should use to promote a CERTAIN product?!?!
    how can he link to that product (he needs some sort of banner, add, smth, with the appropriate tracking code like in ANY affiliate network); I installed your plugin and saw nothing of that kind, so I don’t really understand how could that work for affiliates !??!

    Thxs

    (@candy2012)

    yes, usually, but not compulsory;
    Did you build the plugin based on the “wp-content” than?
    If so, that is a very serious limitation, leave alone security issues
    How can that be changed? Where should the changes be made than?

    Thanks

    (@candy2012)

    Just for your information, I just gave it an other try on a relatively fresh WP install, and was not even able to activate it this time!!!

    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

    Warning: require_once(/site_path/wp-content/plugins/wp-deals/deals-admin/deals_settings.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /site_path/contenu-mk/plugins/wp-deals/deals_admin.php on line 12

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/site_path/wp-content/plugins/wp-deals/deals-admin/deals_settings.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear/php5:/site_path/contenu-mk/plugins/wp-deals/deals-assets/vendors/pear:/site_path/contenu-mk/plugins/wp-deals/deals-assets/vendors/pear/PEAR:/site_path/contenu-mk/plugins/wp-deals/deals-assets/vendors/pear/PEAR/Image:/site_path/contenu-mk/plugins/wp-deals/deals-assets/vendors/pear/PEAR/Image/Barcode:/site_path/contenu-mk/plugins/wp-deals/deals-assets/vendors/fpdf') in /site_path/contenu-mk/plugins/wp-deals/deals_admin.php on line 12

    So it seems there is still work to be done there …

    If you think you can correct that in a timely manner, I could try again.

    (@candy2012)

    Hi! Don’t know what more can I tell other than it simply crashed everything; I had to delete the plugin over ftp to be able to even acces my admin again. Was impossible to access the site URL, was like it was trying to load smth. but it just didn’t ….

    pitty, looked like a great plugin at first, maybe I wait for some more updates and might give it an other try later, after it went through some more troubleshooting here

    thanks for the feedback anyways

    Thread Starter candy2012

    (@candy2012)

    OK, took a while, but that’s how you need to integrate it:

    <?php
    global $current_user;
    $current_user = wp_get_current_user();
    $user_points = get_user_meta( $current_user->ID,’secure_invite_points’, true );
    echo ‘<p>Your points: ‘ . $user_points . ‘
    </p>’;
    ?>

    PS: developers, you give faulty instructions about how to integrate this!
    The get_usermeta function you tell us to use is LONG DEPRECATED!

    NO! Failure!
    WOnder how did the plugin “make it” to the WP repository! Thery “pretend” they test those plugins, obviously NOT!
