In reply to: [Collapsing Categories] Bad Permalink on some list itemsGonna close this as it is clear to me now that this is not related to the plugin but rather it is some sort of issue with WP as a whole.

In reply to: [Catch Kathmandu] Homepage posts categories – Filter not workingOk this is resolved – it turns out that in spite of setting the theme options In Catch Kathmandu for “Frontpage settings” to latest posts, you still need to do the same thing with wordpress in “settings -> reading”; that is change it to latest posts. I assumed it was setting that for some reason via the theme setting, but not so, and as the static home page to which WP was pointing had a residue shortcode outputting posts I failed to see what was truly creating the output.
As I said cool theme.

In reply to: [Catch Kathmandu] Homepage posts categories – Filter not workingHey thanks for coming back to me. Guess I will just have to go through the routine of disabling all the plugins to find where the conflict is then. As regards the homepage slider stuff there is no issue with that I was laughing at myself because I simply haven’t reconfigured it yet. It hasn’t been a priority as its theme sits comfortably with the site without it looking so strange.
Back to the real issue of filtering, I will report back if the problem is cleared or not after disabling the plugins.

In reply to: [WP RSS Multi Importer] Taxonomy questionBeen waiting on this a long time too. Keep turning away from the plugin with this as one of the main reasons. Hopefully Allen will see the value at some point.

In reply to: [amr shortcode any widget] Editor on page displaying debug output1) Actually maybe not, perhaps capitalization error or missing hyphon. However whilst the output is rendered correctly the editor window is redirecting to here – https://adventurebod.com/wp-admin/post.php from https://adventurebod.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=5&action=edit after pressing the update button. That page displays empty with the exception of your debug output which shows two lines with exclamation marks and the “Try Debug” line, and this for each widget. (note those links are may not be accessible for you, I only gave you them in full so that you can see how the URL is restructured)
Yes I tried the Try Debug but that redirects back to the All Posts admin window. I obtained the id’s by using the Inspect Element function in Firefox on the widgets window in admin.
>>Before you just mentioned taxo widget and saying there is a message. Now you say in the editor you have two do_widgets?
That’s correct. This doesn’t mean my reporting is inaccurate but that the situation has changed. The output is as it should be, so why would I wait for a resolution before I move on. Simply I tried to offer you some feedback because I thought it might be helpful to you, in that you had kindly shared your plugin. The error message doesn’t relate to the second do_widget, as it is there if I remove the second do_widget and as I mentioned above the debug output relates to both.
The id’s I am using are correct as I said the rendered page output is fine, using the id, only the editor windows are affected.
do_widget_area is not usable for me as I need to use some of the widgets for certain pages, and others for other distinct pages. This has not affected the rendered website output.
The fact that there is filtered output on separate pages is not a factor as I found these issues before adding the additional widgets to the sidebar. However as I said because the output on the website is OK and so I have moved on.
Hope this is useful.

In reply to: [amr shortcode any widget] Editor on page displaying debug outputAll that is in the editor is this:
[do_widget id=taxonomy-drill-down-2 ]
[do_widget id=sticky-posts-2 ]but the same applied on a single shortcode.
If I change name instead of Id the rendered page output fails as well giving the “Error: YOur requested widget nnnnnnnn is not in the widget list” this also applies if I just use [do_widget]
taxonomy-drill-down-2 is definitely in the widgets for shortcode sidebar
Other pages with [do_widget id=…] yes, with the same problem.
As for default theme, not able to test that without to much effort as the taxonomies are all shot, and need handlers adding. Sorry if its asking more questions than it answers, but hope it might help.
Indeed this worked thanks for that.
However I was just about to report another bug to you which your patch seems to have removed. But in case it helps, if you are not implementing this patch in future versions: with the numbering on, prior to the patch removing it I had just discovered a problem under IE11 whereby instead of the icons being placed horizontally they were presented vertically. Inspection revealed the presence of presumably a a js/jquery artifact that was being inserted into the ul tag attributes (sizzle-1377765392290 =”[object Object]”), and which was not occurring in other browsers tested. I see something about a similar issue on stackoverflow https://stackoverflow.com/questions/18504763/jquery-is-adding-a-strange-attribute-to-html-elements hope it is useful to you.
And again thanks for the patch.Cool Champ,
looking forward to the update going to have to take down the social commenting aspect until the beast evolves but followed you on FB and RSS of your blog so hopefully will pick up on the update. And reconsider whatever I am using instead at that point.
Great start!
Hi Cory – actually getting there now – so will be sticking with Duplicator because other than the problem I experienced, which all along seemed unlikely to be an issue relating to your plugin, it’s a smooth tool, and really makes the process of duplication to another stage very simple.
I thank you for your efforts with this plugin and for your help on my issue.
The issue was environmental as suspected. A large number of the plugins that I have employed still use the short <? tag to start a php block – although I have not checked, I guess Hostgator must have ‘short_open_tag = On’ in the apache config. Mine was set to off! Setting it On has resolved the problem.
Thanks mate!
thanks for your comment vtxyzzy will run through your points and report back at some point!
