my whole site came down as well
I trashed the update and re uploaded 1.5.6 and now it works fine

I tried the FTP method
I changed the file like it said to
wp_set_password(‘password’,1);
I’m still not able to login but it didn’t say Incorrect password.
it just didn’t log in.

the I tried the php method and got it to work
