  • I’m glad you solved the problem and that you found a solution !
    _______
I do not use nginx, so I do not really like to make changes until testing.
But, I see there are already public php scripts for apache2nginx
    https://github.com/mow/apache2nginx/blob/master/rew.phps
Not tested so , I do not know how good the code is !

… let the world be an open and free, competition is bad for human and good for corporations that rule the world!

    Cheers :-))

This is impossible, as long as you sends referrer correctly.

Referrer can be removed by Incognito Browsers, Addons, Antivirus, Firewals, ISP, Proxy, etc…

I test and use this plugin every day , over a month and no problems with it !!!

And now i navigate through to your website, a dozen pages, no problem, nothing !!!
    _______________
Incompatibility with Varnish, Lighthttpd, and other “cache” services – Images must not be cached !!! CDN users must ensure that the images served by the CDNS server may be manual updated or have expiration period.

Beware of those who use the Jetpack. CDN wordpress (Photon) never expire, and the lowest WP-PICShield version that allows Photon to take pictures correctly is 1.8.9.d ! If you are unsure, do not use this plugin. Photon Cache can not be updated, watermark images remain forever (unless you change the images path or filename)

No, no work, my apologies but for now it is not compatible.

For the present is no time to write the code to be compatible with nginx, maybe in the future !!!

There is nothing random or intermittent. If your images is in browser cache, may not be blocked ! So if you visit the pages first and then look for the image in google search, pictures may not be protected.

Code is fixed ?? not working with “random code” , is like math functions

    result = func(images, known_vars, unknown_vars)

where known_vars can be referer, user-agent, accept header, and other variables.

unknown_vars : browser cache, unknow browser-agent, hosting cache like varnish, etc.

Redirection work only after clik … not only for google, depends on the context, but work with bing and even with other sites that put links to the image url.

Watermark is universal, is not dependent referer … but in principle I can make changes to the plugin for rules depending on referer.

But until now was not the case, and this changes would complicate a “little” more my plugin.

and if you only want watermark, set Redirect Direct Clik: to

    none

    (@byrev)

    Hi,

“Is it already correct” with default plugin settings.

But, under Optional Settings change Redirect Direct Clik: option from

    attachment

    to

    single

and from now, hit “view original image” will load “post page” !

    (@byrev)

i change info for this option, to warn users !

    (@byrev)

very well that you have solved the problem, and thanks for the info, I’ll check the initial cause for the error !

very well that you have solved the problem, and thank you for details !

and by default, X-Frame-Options SAMEORIGIN is disabled …

    UPDATE:
    _____________
“Whether you are in is Incognito Mode, logged in to your Google account, or just plain heading to Google in any browser, SafeSearch is now enabled by default. The ability to quickly set the search to Moderate, which allows the search to filter only some of the content, has been removed.” https://www.geek.com/articles/news/google-changes-safesearch-forces-filtered-results-on-users-20121212/

So, probably another “problem” for you: google will filter images, one by one … and all images “out of safe” will be ignored !

    (@byrev)

and btw, wp-picshield.com is born with this plugin, and i uploaded images to test if something goes wrong … so,

How do you explain that this site was indexed from zero, the images are indexed from the start without any problem, and with plugin permanently active, born and raised with him ???

If there was something wrong with the plugin I’m sure 100% that this site was the first to be affected … but it was not !

    Plugin Author Emilian Robert Vicol

    (@byrev)

    uh … ok, i see.

Now, here is some info about ratio for my site:

    71000 indexed images in google
    vs
24472 unique images in blog (~ 100k with all version, including thumbs)

This is 60% “duplicate” / and ratio is ~ 3:1 ( 3 in index, vs one image )

    for you :

    58800 indexed images
    vs
5000 real images (like you say)

This is ~ 91% duplicate / and ratio is ~ 12 … 4 times higher than it should be ! Clearly something is not right, I do not understand how google has indexed so many image ? from where ?

if you have one image per attachment and 4 images version (wp standard) you should have no more than 15000 Indexed images !!!

    Plugin Author Emilian Robert Vicol

    (@byrev)

Gazilion script for anti-hotlink is there … all are against those who steal, and Google is no exception ??

I do understand how you have 5000 pictures in blog but 10 times more indexed, it is clear that something is wrong with indexing ?? not with plugin.

And duplicate content, even images is already identified by google. This is only math, and scripting and google knows better than anyone else how to filter duplicates !

Like i say, only math, not SciFi -> PHP GD Duplicate Image Finder
    https://www.catpa.ws/php-duplicate-image-finder/

I suspect that google do new re-crawl and filtering images for you.
    =============

And by the way, how do you know the number of images indexed by “google images” ?

Do you have a separate sitemap for images? Because there is no other possibility to see this.

And if you have separated sitemaps, only one version for images must pe present in sitemap, not all 4 or more !!!

    Plugin Author Emilian Robert Vicol

    (@byrev)

?? one of your site seems to have “worked” quite well in the last month and especially in the last 3 months ! …
