In reply to: [Document Gallery] Compatibility for WordPress 5.3.2 and PHP 7.3?I run WP 5.4.2 and DG 4.4.3 with Gutenberg enabled. ur server (Apache) runs php vers. 7.3.19. The page has a single block as Shortcode [/] with the DG shortcode embedded in another shortcode (Shortcode Ultimate by Vladimir Anokhin).
We do not have any problems with the plugin, as we know of…
DG is a great fit for our requirements and I am hoping that Dan, or someone else, will find he time to maintain it again thoroughly.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Glossary] Social media icons in Terms pageI’m sorry Daniele. I posted the actual site URL, not the test site URL. It is https://www.fortvermilionlodgeboard.test.beaverpc.ca/glossary/?az=V
It shows the Facebook icon with the link: https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=https://fortvermilionlodgeboard.test.beaverpc.ca/glossary/values/
and the Twitter icon: https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=Values&url=https://fortvermilionlodgeboard.test.beaverpc.ca/glossary/values/
and the Pinterest icon: https://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=https://fortvermilionlodgeboard.test.beaverpc.ca/glossary/values/&media=&description=Values
as well an e-mail icon: mailto:?Subject=Values&Body=https://fortvermilionlodgeboard.test.beaverpc.ca/glossary/values/
Currently we are not working on social media programs so we’d like to suppress these icons.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Glossary] When will the plugin be tested in next WP release? That’s fine, but if nobody (but you) knows about it how can the user trust it will be working?
Any other plugin I use will be updated as soon as I see in the installed plugin list in the admin dashboard that it has been tested to be compatible.
I cannot attach screen shots of the display, but WP warns clearly that it has not been tested with the current version (5.2.1) of my installation.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [10WebPostSlider] Fatal error updatingInstead of waiting I looked at the file post-slider-wd.php line 512 and found the error source. It is the adaptation to 10web.io which was not installed but WP5.2 checked against it.
Remediation:
I downloaded the latest plugin version (1.58) and copied it into the file structure (after renaming the existing ‘old’ folder).
Then I just logged in again into the admin area of our website and tested; everything worked just fine. The old folder created another plugin version in the plugin list being deactivated. I just deleted this and can keep working on the development of the new features of our website.
NB: in the meantime there was an auto -update to WP5.2.1

In reply to: Hosting evaluation: SQL query countThank you so much for the reference. This is a great help. Just an initial brief look pointed to one particular plugin being slow (which I suspected already). Just in general FYI the page load requests between 50 and 100 queries in the case of one of my clients’ websites. Extremely helppful.

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Create or edit gallery button missingHave the same problem. But I am in the visual editor. The documents (all pdfs) are showing, and hovering over them changes the cursor to an index finger.
Ah, clicking on it brings the pen up, as well as a remove button.

In reply to: Images broken after move site and switch month/date offThank you for responding. I missed to describe a step I did in between. I created a new DB for the new location (in order to keep the original for test purposes). Then I dumped the content from the old to the new DB and changed the wp_config.php to reflect the new credentials. That’s why the old installation is still working. In the meantime I did work on furthering the new site, i.e. editing, adding, updating etc. which of course is not reflected in the old site.
In other words, your suggestion would wipe all that out. This option I considered myself already but feel it would be the last resort.
Is there a way of
A) knowing where the links between the various access points of WP and the media files are?
and/or
B) regenerating the connection between those “items”?BTW, I did use the velvet Blues Update URLs plugin in an attempt to fix the DB. However, this option I found only after the switch of Month/Year setting and the manual DB update. So it found only one item. I also tried to re-establish the media folders (copied them back within the uploads folder to their original sub-folders). This time, the plugin didn’t find any item to fix.

In reply to: Organize Upload as month/year-based folders – Re-Switch?This I did not know… and moved the physical files to the media root folder, then deleted the empty date folders. All this after moving the whole installation to the actual root of the domain… and tried to fix the links as I found them in the db, in wp_options and wp_posts tables. I also installed the velved_blues plugin to fix the links, which found only 1 record to change (probably due to the month/year discrepancy). Any suggestions how to fix this mess?
