Thanks Joao – I’ve moved to Shopify and have your app there now. It’s working fine. Have a nice day.
Hi Paul,
I updated to the new version of Simple Firewall and tried 2-factor. I’m sorry to say I still got the email with a 550 error. It does and always has included a verification link and I imagine I could still set 2-factor with it. I just never tried it since I was worried I may have problems with the authentication if I ever need it.
The 550 error has something to do with having 2 subject headers and I ran into this same error trying different email programs for my site so I suspect the problem is on my end.
I should also tell you, I’ve learned malware did something to my email accounts. It just dawned on me now this could be related.
My sincerest apologies for your efforts in looking into this problem if I’m the only one having it and you’ve been looking into it because of me.
Thank you,

In reply to: [Child Theme Configurator] Copying header to child themeEdit: Never mind. The problem was my under construction page was up. I disabled it and was able to verify – thank you! (I deleted this post – it had to do with having a problem verifying.)

In reply to: [Child Theme Configurator] Closing PHP tagThanks for the clarification!
I’d like so much to learn this for future reference.
Could you please tell me how I can know if any code I want to enter can execute on a global scope? If it can’t where would I place it?
Could you also please let me know if any of my above code is in the wrong place?
Thank you for your kind help!
Gail

In reply to: [Child Theme Configurator] Closing PHP tagYou’re so nice to reply so quickly. Unfortunately, I regret I don’t understand what you’re saying “Do not place any code between the auto-generated markers or it will be overwritten by the plugin. Insert it before or after the marker comments.”
I do want to learn this and I’d appreciate so much if you could tell me what the auto-generated markers are? And could you please tell me what the marker comments are?
And could you please let me know if any of my above code in the wrong place?
Thank you,

In reply to: [Child Theme Configurator] Closing PHP tagThank you so much for your quick reply. That’s interesting about the closing php tag as bad practice and I’m glad to see how on top of things you are.
Unfortunately, I am having trouble understanding your reply for the rest. How can I know if the “code can execute in the global scope” and where exactly at the bottom can I place it? Do I place it just above the below line?
// END ENQUEUE PARENT ACTION
Thank you,

In reply to: [Child Theme Configurator] Where to place code in function.phpHi lilaemedia,
Jason of your team got in touch with me before I received your reply and all is fixed. I can’t thank you both enough for the detailed instructions. That seems very rare to come by for anything related to making webpages.

In reply to: [Anti-Malware Security and Brute-Force Firewall] Block XMLRPCHi Eli,
Thanks for your reply.
I guess that means I do have it enabled since there isn’t any button to the right. I remember trying to enable it before. It just doesn’t have a green box with a check mark to the left of it like the others so I wasn’t sure. Here’s a screenshot to see what I mean:
Thank you,
GailYes, it was John and thank you. I forgot I had other support tickets out there or I would have posted it’s resolved. I’m unable to mark it resolved. When you have a chance, kindly mark it resolved. Thank you! Gail
Hello John,
Thank you for your reply. It is still happening.
I have Windows 7 and I’ve tried IE, Chrome and Firefox.
I’ve had other support help from you recently and I’m the one who had malware on my computer with residual damage to my browsers.
I had forgotten I had this support ticket here or I would have updated it to say the problem is probably caused by the damage.
Fortunately, I see my key in the settings so I must have been able to set up the plugin before I started having this problem and hopefully I have all the settings right anyway.
If you’ve never run into this problem before, then I’d say the problem is my browser damage and you could mark this resolved.
Thank you,
