Hi @markbond and @deewebmaster,
If you haven’t done so already, please contact us here with a link to the forum thread: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/contact/
This is something we’re working on right now to resolve. We’ll be able to provide a patch from there.
HI @wireinet,
Sorry that you ran into issues here!
Sounds like you created a listing from the admin side of the dashboard. When you do that, you’re not required to associate a fee plan to that listing, but it is required for the listing to have in order to be edited from the front end.
You can still edit it as the admin though. Login to your admin dashboard, find the listing and edit it from there. You can change/add a fee plan in the upper right corner of the listing from that screen.
Try that and let me know if you run into more issues.
Hi @tanjimayesmin,
Thanks for your patience here. I’ve been out of town for several days.
I presume you’re asking this question about template overrides, yes? I can get the code snippet for it, but I’ll need to ask my developer first.
Hi @silvercode,
It’s possible that your permalink structure needs to be flushed AFTER you do the full conflict check. Did you do that as well?
Failing that, we can discuss more offline. Contact us here with a link to this forum thread: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/contact/
Hi @communicationma,
Sorry that you ran into issues here!
That issue doesn’t appear to be something related to Business Directory Plugin in this casce. You probably want to check with the Directories Faker plugin and see what they have to say. But it does look like a PHP 7.0 incompatibility to me.
They would know for sure. We’re happy to answer questions about Business Directory Plugin, but for other 3rd party plugins, you’ll need to contact the appropriate plugin team for that.
Hi @thomasvaterlaus,
If it’s not working, contact us here with a link to this forum thread so we can investigate further: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/contact/

You’re welcome!
Hi @btcjp,
Sorry for any confusion here.
The German files we include are ones that the community translated, so they get updated by use periodically as we add, change or remove features. The strings that get changed are only translated if someone is still actively doing that for their directory, and sometimes those translations get ignored. Sounds that that was the issue here.
As you found the translation instructions already, you know what you need to know but for others who find this thread in the future, here’s what you do:
This article will give you the specifics on how to translate the language file for the directory plugin:
https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/translating-bd-other-language/This can be used to change the labels as well as the language itself.
I believe we added it when site owners requested to know how much “activity” their listings were generating and had no insight into that.
My mistake @thomasvaterlaus.
Yes, that option does exist right there.
Hi @silvercode,
Sorry that you ran into issues here!
Business Directory Plugin does not attempt to manage your site-wide redirects from http to https in any way. That sounds like you may have either a conflict, or other things were being changed at the same time.
I would strongly suggest a conflict test to find the real source of the problem.
Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with Business Directory, which may help pinpoint the issue: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/how-to-check-for-plugin-and-theme-conflicts-with-bd/
I would be very surprised if running BD only and a default theme that you would see this issue, but following this will help you find the real culprit.
Hi @edworthymedia,
First, the way BD currently works is that you can set a field as the “excerpt” and this will be used for the list view to restrict how much text is displayed. You can read about configuring and managing fields here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/manage-form-fields/
Restricting the actual content happens in the Featured Levels module, which is optional for purchase. https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/featured-levels-module/
Sticky listings (we call them “Featured Listings”) can be enabled by creating the right kind of fee plan (which can be free if you want, although that tends to defeat the point of having only some listings sticky). It’s documented here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/how-to-make-a-listing-featured-sticky/
I hope that helps.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or issues!
Hi @thomasvaterlaus,
Sorry that you ran into issues here!
BD has many notifications available, but unfortunately due to privacy concerns with GDPR, notifying the admin when a contact has been entered on the site is not currently one of them. To avoid any legal issues and not being compliant, we don’t plan to add this right now.
Glad to hear it’s working well @kimmy1234!
