@awesonja thanks for chiming back in with that additional issues. We’ve seen other PHP errors for upgrading to PHP 8 and are investigating. We’ll be sure to update this thread when we know more.

    @alex-h-1 Hey there,

While that may have worked, and is technically feasible to set it up to work with a single list database, we still generally recommend keeping a one to one relationship to avoid any issues. We’ve seen syncing issues similar to this in the past where multiple store per list caused conflict across the board.

    Hello there,
Thank for reaching out to the support team. And trying a few troubleshooting steps of updating plugins.

We certainly want to make sure people can signup to your newsletter on checkout.

I was able to run some test on 2.5.2 and 2.5.3 and was unable to reproduce the exact issue as described.

To help us troubleshoot further, would it be possible to disable all plugins except Woocommerce and Mailchimp for WooCommerce? This could help us zero in on what may be at hand and reduce the chance of any other interference with other plugins.

Also to help us rule the possibility of a Front-end issue can you check the web inspector to view the HTML on the checkout page and try seeing if the code for mailchimp-newsletter is still present?

Lastly, as just to make sure all the bases are covered can you confirm if the plugin is still activated and syncing to Mailchimp? Is any e-commerce data coming over to your Mailchimp Audience?

    Greetings,

The expected behaviour for customers that have created an account on a WordPress site with Woocommerce for Mailchimp installed is that the Signup for newsletter does not appear while checking out and signed in.

I’ve went ahead and double checked by testing on my end. Using the following steps.

    1. Create a new account on the site with a new customer email. Making sure to check the sign up for newsletter option
    2. Checked email for the Auto Generated Woocommerce Password and signed in.
    3. Chose a product and checked out.

If these are similar steps followed on your end and for some reason the opt-in box is still showing could your provide some more information, such as a screenshot of a test customer profile and screenshots of the process of checking out.

Could you let us know the version number of Mailchimp for Woocommerce in use?

That should help us zero in on on what may be happening.

    Thanks.
    4. Notice there isn’t not a sign up for newsletter option.

@kevinplusplus Hey and thanks for bringing that to our attention. I’ll be sure to get this in front of our development teams eyes. I can’t however, promise this will make it to the next update. However, when we know more , we’ll update this thread.

    Thanks again.

Great questions and thanks for reaching out.

Allowing people who haven’t purchased anything to subscribe to your Mailchimp Audience is possible when the plugin is installed and a person navigates to the page on your site that allows for account registration on your wp site. There will be an included opt-in box that says “Subscribe to our newsletter”

In regards to tracking language, Mailchimp already tries to detect Language when they join your audience, update their profile, or click links in your emails via the browser.

One way to go about allowing for a contact to choose language would be to adding an update profile link in a follow-up Automation that would invite them with a call to action to choose a language.

This could be done a few different ways such as adding a merge field that is a text field where they can type the language.

adding a pre-populated drop down list which would lend itself more consistent guarding against typos as with a simple text field.

Adding a group choice where each interest group is a language.

At this time there isn’t an option for denoting language or editing the form fields built into Woocommerce.

Thanks or writing in and letting us know about the warnings, While I can’t provide any details on a specific cause, I will get this directly to our development team to see what they think. Once I know more, I’ll update this thread.

@yournetgbr thanks for the additional background information on the past fix. I’ve also brought this to the attention to our development team. Hopefully a similar solution can be reached. Since that last fix there have been quite a few changes.

    Thanks again for our patience.

@borjamerino Thanks for your patience, after talking with out development team they mentioned that is is necessary to have curl installed on your server in order for things to work properly. If you can get that enabled on your hosting and try using the plugin once more hopefully that gets things in order, if not of course reach back out.

@marcods thanks for the extra details. We’re getting other reports of this happening as well and our developers are looking into it.

We’ll chime back in once we know what a solution will be. Although I can’t give a specific time frame as to when it can be worked out. I can assure you we’re working on it now. If it turns out we need to do a patch.

Here is another thread you can follow as well. We’re combining them:

@james4311 glad you were able to get it found and worked out. You’re more than welcome. Also thanks for the extra notes on finding the Classic Automations. I got it noted, just in case others ask.

    Have a good one.
