Hi Mike,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
I think you confuse our protected links and private download links.
Our private links are accessible to anyone although you can auto-expire it by time or clicks.
Protected links are accessible only to those with permission.
Please let us know if it’s clearer and makes sense to you, @mycloc.

Hi Dee,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Yes, you can protect and restrict access to your book under uploads folder with our plugins:
– By default, our Prevent Direct Access (PDA) Gold protects your media files under WordPress Media Library only.
– You will need to use Folder Protection feature provided by our Access Restriction – an addon of our PDA Gold.
In short, you will need both our main plugin – PDA Gold and the extension to achieve what you want.
Please let us know if that makes sense to you, Dee.
Hi @rosakick,
Thanks for letting us know. There should be an option to “Configure file protection” for each media file under WordPress Media library, List view.
The UI of the Free version is identical to the Gold version’s.
If it doesn’t show up, can you please send us a screenshot of your Media Library under list view?

In reply to: [Prevent Direct Access - Protect WordPress Files] Simple and UsefulHi @pradeepphule,
Thanks for the follow-up.
Yes, you can surely protect PDF files from being direct access with our Free version.
In case you want to display the PDF on your website but prevent users from downloading the file, you should take a look at our Watermark WordPress Files plugin instead.
That feature is out of our Prevent Direct Access plugin’s scope. Even our Gold version doesn’t support that.
Please let us know if it makes sense to you, @pradeepphule.

In reply to: [Prevent Direct Access - Protect WordPress Files] It WorksThanks for getting back to us, @valithea.
It looks like you’re using a Nginx server or Apache with Nginx as a reverse proxy, which is not supported by our Free version.
Can you please drop us an email to hello(at)preventdirectaccess.com with a sample protected link so that we can double-check and advise you accordingly?

In reply to: [Prevent Direct Access - Protect WordPress Files] It WorksHi @valithea,
Thanks for the comment.
I think you misunderstand our concepts. Our “private download links” are supposed to be accessible to anyone (both logged-in and non-logged-in users), while the “protected links” are accessible only to those whom you grant permission to.
I believe you should use our “protected links” instead of the “download links”.
Can you please refer to this tutorial on the difference and when to use the protected vs private download links?
Please let us know if it makes sense to you, @valithea.

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] 3 forms showing on the pageThe issue is resolved with @griff78 via email.
Just to update, there are 2 duplicate password forms because the theme adds & customizes its own.
You can hide either form using CSS or remove our password form through the provided hook.
Hope it helps those with the same issue.

Hello @markhowellsmead,
Thanks for checking in and letting us know.
Yes, we’re aware of the notice on WordPress 5.3. In fact, the warning is fixed on our latest version 2.5.1.1.
Just to clarify, there was only one (not a few) warning notice as far as we know.
Please let us know if there is anything else that we can help.
