I was planning on asking that, does FAQ have a sorting option ? This would put the final icing on the cake,

also I notice when the send email feature is used, its not sending email has anyone gotten this to work ?

when you click the form it gets directed to the cgi/formmail.pl script but then the server says page not found, guess wp and .pl files don’t mix well, i got it to work by using the alternative formmail.php the sister version of formmail.pl it works with wp

its a cgi script that the form gets directed to so its not a page per say, it works outside of wp just not inside

the page template is where the form is then as you hit the submit button the form gets directed via the action=”formmail.pl

I think the visual editor is awful in wp no matter what browser, it adds too many line breaks < br and </p automatically, thinking of disabling and just coding the dam page manually. Are there any other options other than the default editor ?

I tried that but it doesn’t do what I was looking for, the permalinks seem to only be for blog categories and not pages, when you add anything to permalinks, for pages it just gets written as site/this-is-page-name

i was looking to keep it on default and have the url be /index.php?q=this-is-page-title

I didn’t say I didni’t find anything in the search, I found none of those posts to have the solutions I was looking for ?? wp really needs a snappy faq plugin, they have a plugin for everything in the universe only not one for faq. Ideally, something in the wp-admin where you can add the question and answer there

seems like it should be a standard way to set page templates, it gets confusing when you have two templates inside the same folder, especially when you have two images same name only different color, there has to be a way to set up two different folders

In order for it to work, you need paypal, but the buyers don’t need paypal.

I love it when people say this, buyers don’t need paypal account, but if you ever look at a paypal page they mislead buyers into thinking they have to create an account,

i got it working now, worked better once i used a copy of the default theme

I decided to just duplicate the default theme and work from there,

added a header2.php and a sidebar2.php and duplicated page.php, all seems to be going as planned in the get sidebar call i changed to include sidebar2.php but for some reason its not working, i can get everything else but the sidebar

I followed one page template example duplicated page renamed to snarfer.php and did a php include for header2/footer2

and called a page with the template snarfer.php everything appears to switch over nicely but the default sidebar stays and when I use an include for sidebar2 it pulls it in but the old one remains as well,

my attempt was to remove the categories on the new template leaving just the pages in the side bar

then for the other would have only the categories

I think sometimes advanced users can take the “did you read the documenation” too far, there’s only so much reading one can do, how many hundreds of pages must one read before they find the answer ?? I think its great to do some searching before we post but for how long must we search until we are worthy of posting ? I think some compassion is in order for the newbies, personally I find the links suggested here not clearly explained for a newbie maybe for an advanced programmer. I can’t make heads or tales out of the page template instructions. Cut the newbies some slack, you were one once ??

for page templates can we have a separate theme folder for it ? i have not read in the docs about creating another folder with its own images and stylesheet, do the added page templates remain in the main theme folder ?
