To which I replied, “It won’t let me update.
I kind of have an issue with paying again for a product that I couldn’t get to work properly in the first place.” and never received a response….

Updating requires that I purchase another license. The product wasn’t working properly with the last purchase, so why would I want to spend more money to update to “hope” it would work with an additional license purchase?

You call it extortion that I wrote a review that I received poor support, I call it extortion that you force people to pay to update under the guise that you might help them after.

As I mentioned previously, I did that once before (paid to renew the license and update) and the ad inserter STILL to this day inserts ads within the blockquote despite emails back and forth requesting help to resolve it. (case in point: https://snipboard.io/7dhFxW.jpg , with NO paragraph counting inside set-> https://snipboard.io/R2OeHV.jpg and the ad uses insertion inside HTML element which does not have paragraph settings.

The issue never got resolved. Each time I get the same canned response, linking back to that same paragraph settings page that does Not work with bbpress/html insertion.

That’s not helpful, nor supportive.

To avoid insertions inside ai-avoid divs you shoud use insertion before/after paragraph and set paragraph counting accordingly:

Not sure how to understand your approach. Review extorsion is not the right way to go.

I contacted you several days ago and was told to upgrade again, which means I have to pay again for pro version and this has been an ongoing issue that was not resolved when I paid for the pro version the first time, hence the reason for not updating/upgrading again- and the reason for the review.

Paragraph settings are not an option on bbpress topic pages. The only option is an HTML element div.bbp-reply-content p

However, I must say that what you are saying is a bit misleading. First, this does not qualify as a major security flaw.

Really? The fact that a subscriber has the capability to bulk delete 20,000 photos feels like a security flaw to me, but we can refer to it as a bug if it makes you feel better.

Most importantly, it is not true that any user can restore backups, bulk optimize or bulk delete images. Only administrators and editors can perform such actions.

I wish that were the case. Actually, it’s quite true and when I tried to post snipboard screenshots, I received a yellow warning message showing that I wasn’t permitted to do so.
They weren’t just “appearing” to be an option by the annoying menu that couldn’t be removed. The option worked, they also could fully restore the shortpixel database. Again, tried to post screenshots, but I got my hand slapped.

In any case, I’m sure you’ll be happy to hear that we have already on our roadmap a feature request to customize the roles that can access certain menus or do certain actions.

That is refreshing as I do not wish to use multiple functions to protect my images:

1. To disallow users from seeing anything but their own images
2. to disallow the List Mode- which gave them access to Shortpixel Compression Settings
3. to disable the bulk Delete mode that does indeed still work

At this point I’m good, I finally secured my site, and I was just letting you know so you could address the issues as you see fit.

It may be, but the content filter didn’t seem to work with USP PRO and it’s working great with the SBCF. Not sure if they function the same way in each plugin.

There may be a conflict with another plugin, such as WP Rocket or Autoptimize, etc because the USP Pro forms for post submissions works great. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t determine where/what the conflict was to get it resolved.

Thank you, yes I got it sorted by switching to a free plugin called Simple Basic Contact Form. It has google recaptcha, honeypot, and a challenge question.

It took all of 5 minutes to set up and when someone spams you, they get a “success” message but it never makes it to your inbox. Super Excited to not receive 100 spam emails a day!

USP Pro works great to allow people to add posts to your site and control the fields, not so much as a regular contact form, at least not for me. Thank you again Jeff for trying to help.

Yes, you did reply quickly. But as I explained to you, I’ve been using Google reCaptcha and it’s NOT effective. I tried version 1, 2, AND 3. Neither is adding the Challenge question, as I have been using BOTH of them together for months.

I also tried your hidden field guide (which is about as clear as mud to implement).

Unfortunately, the amount of spam coming through USP-PRO has become completely ridiculous. I’ve tried for several months to resolve the issue, which I’ve resolved in 15 minutes by using a different plugin with a honeypot field.

Thanks, got it. For some reason, once a post is saved, that bookmark junk code gets injected into the amazon ad. I’ll have to do some digging to figure out why. Thank you for troubleshooting for me, I really appreciate it.

Thank you so much! I disabled the “Also aggregate inline JS” option in Autoptimize. I’m trying to figure out how to include it in the “Exclude scripts from Autoptimize” but so far no love.

Would you happen to know if the correct syntax would be to include the entire path:

wp-content/plugins/wp-youtube-lyte/lyte.js

or just the end-result file lyte.js ??

@ymf That’s strange because the issue I was experiencing with Contact Form 7 went away when I disabled Yoast, until I added the <p></p> tags, which work with both Contact form 7 And Yoast enabled.

How did you resolve this?? I have the exact same issue, also with Yoast.

When the Yoast Bulk Updater is Run it populates the Necessary fields to Import To.

The yoast bulk updater won’t run, unless you fill in EACH field. I have over 14K fields to fill in to force it to populate. Which is why I want to remove the ! Empty and replace it with a default text word: SEO

Once the field has been populated, I can quickly and easily transfer my existing post metadata into the Meta_value field using LEFT JOIN.
