BTW … I have Clef updated to 2.5.5, so the issue with the lost password form is still happening, it is a current issue.

Well, now I know Clef is the problem. I have tested the lost password screen varying the activated plugins and the result is that the lost password form breaks only when Clef is on/activated.

Can somebody from the Clef plugin take a look at this, please?

    best regards,
    Giovanni

Thank you, Frank, for your help! However, I still do not understand exactly the origin/source of the problem and how to fix this.

It seems to me you have said that Clef is marking the <body> tag incorrectly with class “login-action-” instead of “login-action-lostpassword”. Based on that, I manually changed the body’s class to “login-action-lostpassword in the Chrome developer tools and, voilà, the form started showing corretly again.

Therefore I guess the Clef plugin has a bug and needs to fix the class insertion for the lost password form.

ANYBODY FROM CLEF TO HELP HERE?

    best regards,
    Giovanni

After seeing your new update to the plugin in version 2.5.5, I have updated my review above to mark suggestion (a) as resolved. ??

If I could raise to 6 stars, I would!

I just “pumped up” some new translations that can take the translated strings from 9% to 74% in Brazilian portuguese. Hope this helps!

Hi again … I am doing some translations already …

The button string (“Log in with your phone”) was there.

But there are some strings which are not available for translating on Transiflex. I could not find, for example, “The best way to log in without passwords.” nor “With Clef, logging in is safer and easier.”. These phrases show up right up front in the embedded wave log in, so it would be important to translate them.

Can you help me understand why they are not there (in Transiflex) for me to translate them?

    best regards,
    Giovanni

I signed up. Now it seems I need some kind of approval in order to be able to translate strings to Brazilian portuguese. Can somebody approve me?

How long does it take for the translations to be incorporated? I mean … how long after I help translate can I expect to see strings like the one in the button (Log in with your phone) showing up correctly in the new language?

    best regards,

Just registering here that Dan Lester’s new feature is working great!

I have tested it on on some of my pdf books in Google Chrome and in Microsoft Edge. The plugin is finally scrolling to top automatically when the user hits the next/previous page buttons. This is a very important feature for improving readibility with PDF Embedder.

    Thank you Dan Lester!

    NOTICE FOR OTHER USERS
Just as a warning/notice: in my case, updating the plugin and selecting the “scroll to top” feature in the settings page was not enough to guarantee the correct functioning of the new feature. I had to clear up the cache in my browsers, including all data and cookies, otherwise the plugin stopped even opening the pdfs, probably because of some previously downloaded version of a javascript or something like this. It really does not matter what it was, but I leave here a notice for other people that the update is working; just be sure to CLEAR YOUR HISTORY AND CACHE before testint it.

    Thank you very much Dan!

I am really looking forward to this, as it will be extremely useful for the e-learning site I am building and expect to release within the next few weeks.

When would you guess this feature would be deployed?

Thank you very very much Dan!

Works perfectly. The new feature is working. No more easy right-click to download the image. No more easy right-click to view source. The only way a PC user can resort to now is by going through the browsers menu (or knowing the key shortcut, like F12 for Chrome) to open the “code inspection mode”.

New question. I did not even find a “page image” in the code inspection; just found the canvas. Within all the resources, all the other images on the page (logos, button images…) were available, as usual, but there was no image in the resources list to the canvas’s page image. Am I crazy? Am I looking at the wrong place? Or is the page image really not available for download not even in the “code inspection mode” resources now? If, yes … this is wonderful.

BTW … in case anyone who reads this thread might wonder… In my case, I always use the full screen mode (the user has a very small preview image to click on an open the e-book on full screen), so the whole screen (canvas) is unclickable with the right mouse button. I did not test cases in which the canvas in embedded only partially in the screen. But if anyone uses the full screen mode, I can atest the new no right-click feature works perfectly.

BTW … I updated the plugin to version 2.4.3.

Here is another test page, with a small one-page pdf with two external links for testing.

    https://www.traductor.com.br/pdf-link-test/

Here is the shortcode used on this page:
    [pdf-embedder url=”https://www.traductor.com.br/wp-content/uploads/securepdfs/2015/11/teste-de-link1.pdf&#8221; download=”on” newwindow=”on”]

The download button is also not showing on the screen, with the download button activated on the settings and directly on the shortcode, as you can see above. Already cleared the cache and it is still not showing.

Another issue is I cannot see anything related to the “Jump to page number”, as if this feature did not exist.

    Therefore I have 2 issues:

    • hyperlinks not working
    • jump to page not working

BTW … I have your plugin updated to version 2.4.1, the latest, I suppose.

    best regards,
    Giovanni
