    Ravan,

Great idea. I just posted there directing them over here. See

I also heard Feedburner might get shut down. But it’s still up as of now.

Ravan, it’s not my place to tell them how to write their code any more than you. But nobody is going to “tell” anyone. Just make them aware of a conflict that could be solved together and politely ask if they could work it out with you.

It was only last week that we informed another developer of a clash with their plugin and another. The developer went to the other developer and they quickly found a solution together. I think that’s what you should do here. I think it would already be solved if you did. Maybe they won’t want to use the exact solution you proposed but have another one and you two can talk it out.

    Ravan,

Wouldn’t it be easier if you just directly went to the support forum for that plugin and posted this. Then if they needed to reply or get any help from you they could. Seems to make more sense than having me just go over there and post this exact same thing and then come back again here to let you know what they said and so on.

    Ravan,

I have not talked to the Feedburner Feedsmith developer. Might it be better if you got in touch with them so that you two, as the developers, could coordinate how to make these things no longer conflict?

    https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1612182364/{my associate id}”

That’s the format I’ve always used on my sites and it has always worked fine.

I know what you mean because I’ve also wondered before about those much longer URL’s. But all I can tell you is using the form exactly as you are using has always worked for me and I’ve had plenty of clicks and sold lots of products using that form of link.

It seems like Amazon is pretty robust and can translate a variety of forms of those links properly.

    Good news.

The WordPress sites using the plugin never had any problems. Those work properly.

All the massive numbers of clicks were coming from the non-Wordpress site using the manual javascript code. Once you updated the code, it is now working properly without huge numbers of clicks.

Thank you, Pete, for taking the time to update that code. I really appreciate it.

Now if I ever get any foreign affiliate income, you’ll get my first dollar.

Thanks Pete. I just installed the new code. We’ll have to wait a day or two to see what happens to the Amazon numbers.

It sounds like Nick is having a somewhat increased number of clicks on just the US site. I’m having hundreds and thousands on multiple countries. I removed the code yesterday and those countries went to 0. So there seems no doubt the code was causing all the clicks.

We’ll find out soon if this new code solves it. Thanks for your help.

So Nick. You’re seeing high clicks (how high by the way? Just a bit higher or hundreds or thousands?) just on the US program? So you’re not seeing that on any of the other country programs?

Meanwhile, I’m seeing no problem on the US. But on Canada massive clicks. Very high on the UK and Germany too. I can’t imagine it being an Amazon glitch on my side. Maybe our problems are different.

Hopefully sometime soon Pete will be able to see how the javascript is functioning on my site and that will help us figure it out.

OK well I chickened out. I took the javascript code off the site that’s registering tons of clicks. I’m eager to put it back on. But I don’t think I should until you have a bit to look at it Pete.

So can you please let me know when you’re around and when it works for both of us I will put the code back just long enough for you to take a look. Maybe we can hop on skype or something or just email back and forth at that time and see if we can get this resolved.

It’s a shame because I hate to lose possible sales during this time it’s not on. But it seems too risky letting it keep racking up hundreds of false clicks.

If this is an issue where the manual javascript doesn’t strip the ID’s then it would seem everyone who uses it would be experiencing this problem and having lots of false clicks. So I don’t know if that’s the case. But it seems like a pretty big problematic bug.

Hope we can work out a time to take a look at it together soon. Thanks a lot.

    Pete,

This is really important. And the site that has the non-plugin version I’m not posting here. So if you need to look at it I need to email you it.

I wasn’t that worried before as I didn’t think it really mattered if I got tons of clicks. But now I’m very concerned about them possibly shutting my accounts down if this keeps up from what I saw about the 1% conversion for the Euro accounts. So what do you suggest? Can you fix the manual one so it won’t use my ID on the lookups quickly? Should I take it off the site until you do?

    Pretty concerned about it.

At the same time, Nick seems to be using the plugin and having the same problem. So maybe the manual version alone doesn’t explain it entirely? But then I have the plugin on other sites and not having this problem there. So it’s confusing.

    Thread Starter BU810

    (@bu810)

Uh oh. In the thread Nick linked to someone said in the Euro programs if you drop under 1% conversion you get kicked out of the program. Well with these hundreds of clicks out of nowhere, there’s no chance I’ll get even close to 1%. I hope this isn’t true.

    Thread Starter BU810

    (@bu810)

Very interesting. Except mine isn’t double the clicks. I’m getting hundreds, even thousands of clicks on these foreign Amazon accounts where I doubt I actually had even a single click the day I just set it up. Maybe I had 1 or 2 if lucky. So even if some people are seeing a weird glitch with double, that wouldn’t come close to explaining this extreme.

    Thread Starter BU810

    (@bu810)

Wait, I just remembered. The site that is having all of these clicks is not one with the plugin but one where I used the manual javascript because it’s not a WordPress site. Does that make a difference, Pete?

    Thread Starter BU810

    (@bu810)

    Nick,

I can’t see it being a coincidence. I’ve been in the Canada program for a while. Very few clicks, but a few here and there. The very day I added this plugin it immediately went up to hundreds of clicks. And also seeing all those clicks on other countries only accessed by the plugin. Meanwhile my American clicks did not go up like yours.

    Thread Starter BU810

    (@bu810)

Pete, I’ll email you the link to the site collecting huge numbers of clicks ok?
