I know the admin works but the main url for the site calls the error. Thanks Clayton. I will try a reload as a last-ditch effort…maybe tomorrow after I do some artwork to remind myself that I am not that stupid.

I can still create websites- just not with css and php, javascript- the poetry for code junkies. I can write action script 3 in Flash. The reason I opted for WP was that the iPad doesn’t accept Flash.

My first Flash animation is going to be aimed at iPad’s shortcoming- favoring html 5. Ironic that the iPad folks won’t see my slam…then nobody will see anything anyway if I keep stalling with WP. Two whole weeks and still no content! The hearsay about WP was that it was easy to use- without learning code. This seems to be the school of hard knocks, instead of easy. Poetry is sarcasm or angry humor.

I didn’t do any mods. I just uploaded without a wp container folder…inside the root folder. Simple this is NOT. Have my doubts about spending another week on a simple install. Thank you for the reply. I may just try to reinstall again to a container folder. Also I had a failure in the localhost as well. No rhyme or reason…it just stopped with a database error. Worked one day and failed the next. Almost ready to throw in the towel…frustration to this magnitude is not something to keep visiting. This is not poetry.

Objective is to be comfortable with a local wp site for development that I can use to upload my changed files to the remote server. Databases that coordinate seem difficult.

SO, if I delete the site and try to upload another copy into a new container folder…
What happens to the database tables? Do they need to be deleted? Will the new install delete them or do I need to manually delete them? Argh.

I just checked the username, password, localhost in the config file and everything does match up…they are the same and yet still work. I thought I had different host names…in fact, godaddy did have a db# after localhost that I thought I had entered into the config script. Not there now and worked the first time…still works. Localhost works. Still have to reorganize the folders I beleive…that is move everything or delete it and upload all over again…might not be so lucky the second time. I’m so tired.

Steve Martain fixed my set-up pdq. Now I have more questions about configurations and I’m afraid I’ll break the localhost settings if I make any changes. I don’t know if the php code is compatible with my artistic brain. I’ve got a headache and haven’t got any work done in a week. What have I learned? ahhh I don’t lke php. I feel like I was mugged.
