In reply to: [WooCommerce] Changing download file removes download permissions permanentlyThanks for responding, Dustin.
The file does not have exactly the same name, as we keep older versions for archival purposes.
After uploading the new file, we find the product we’re editing, then click on ‘Choose File’ to select the new file.

In reply to: [Booster for WooCommerce] Plugin will not deleteYeah, I was just letting you know about it (and if you had any ‘gotchas’ about doing it that way).
That being said, I looked at my plugin page a little while later, and it WAS disabled at least. But now I’m trying to re-enable it (a feature that I thought you had I couldn’t find, so I wanted to remove it, and now I see the feature in your list of features, so now I’m double-checking), and I’m seeing the same issue: I try to enable the plug in, and wordpress says it got enabled, but it is not enabled.
Really strange.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Editing Product Takes a while after timeoutWell, there isn’t as much network traffic on the staging server as compared with the live site. That, to me, doesn’t absolve code or hardware of the problem. But clearly, this isn’t a definitive WooCommerce problem, so I’ll keep doing some research and I’ll post back if I find it to be a clear WooCommerce bug.
Thanks for all your help, Joel!

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Editing Product Takes a while after timeoutThe hosting site is taking care of both the hosting and the staging. So that makes it sound like it ISN’T the host (necessarily)

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Editing Product Takes a while after timeoutSo I set up a staging server with my host.
I didn’t change any of the plugins, and tested it. It worked.
Any suggestions to further test this?
No, I haven’t changed the login or registration page.
I am using the Avada theme, WooCommerce, and a few other plugins.
I AM using a plugin called Login Log, but that should just record the logins, not anything else.
I’m also using the Captcha plugin if that matters.
Yes, I followed those instructions, but I’m still having issues ??
All it checks for is if you have ‘downloadable’ checked in the woocommerce product listing, right? Because we have it marked as downloadable.
The pictures you see are an example of the finished product. We sell the design for it in zip format. So the product we’re selling is a zip.
Awesome Thank you!

In reply to: [WooCommerce] After purchase, downloadable products give cart errorPerfect! Thank you, Hannah!!

In reply to: [WooCommerce] After purchase, downloadable products give cart errorI get that it’s because we limit our customers to one purchase, the error message is just misleading. If you bought a song from iTunes and it came back, “[song] was removed from your cart because it can no longer be purchased”, that would be highly confusing for you, right? I just want to know how to fix it (which I’m trying with your first message), or how to change the message to something more appropriate.
Thanks for the first idea though. We actually had the return set to something old that we no longer use, so perhaps that’ll fix it? More info forthcoming.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Editing Product Takes a while after timeoutSo do small businesses really have a second install of wordpress/woocommerce that they can try these things out on? Because with our single install, I cannot just turn off our site to check on this issue. I’d have bedlam. So the only other solution would be to have a second, mirrored install. Is that what a lot of mid-level businesses do?
Worked great! I had to set my Screen Options to list a max of 375 customers (400 wouldn’t work), but we got through it with minimal fuss. Thank you!!

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Editing Product Takes a while after timeoutTried it with Chrome initially. Tried it with Safari today.
Steps are:
Log in as admin
Go to Products
Edit a product (not quick edit)
Change Publishing option from ‘Visibility: Public’ to ‘Visibility: Private’
Click Update.Sometimes the circular busy symbol doesn’t even spin–it shows up, but doesn’t move.
