In reply to: Store Plugin with form submission, no payments. If you have any questions just ask, plus their support is pretty good as well. Sometimes it takes a day but they are in South Africa, so its understandable. But their answers are always complete and informative.

In reply to: Store Plugin with form submission, no payments.Try looking at Tribulant Software’s WordPress Plugin called Checkout. That is the one I settled on. It is pretty nice and has the ability to do what I wanted plus you’ll be able to take cards if you wish later on.
It costs a bit of money, but worth every penny. Its $55, but if you email them they’ll probably send you a code for 10% off.

In reply to: Page with parent page not using permalink as I would expect…Ok, so as described above, I’m still having an issue. I have scoured through the wordpress database and even updated a few columns to reflect the lower case ‘products’ instead of the uppercased ‘Products’ but to no avail.
Here is the example that gives a Not Found error.
https://174.120.5.220/~kissofna/products/china-glaze-nail-enamel/This url works however…
https://174.120.5.220/~kissofna/Products/china-glaze-nail-enamel/Notice that the only difference is the capital P. Where the heck could this be coming from? I’ve tried resaving the permalinks setting, I’ve gone through the database looking for problems… my .htaccess matches the standard wordpress .htaccess. I’m at a loss right now. If you click on the menu link it goes to the lower case version and is Not Found. Put in an uppercase it it works… ANY IDEAS?????

In reply to: Moving from WordPress.comYes, in order to use plugins you’ll need to be on the www.remarpro.com software which is the open source blogging platform that wordpress.com is based on.
If you paid wordpress.com for some upgrades and you want to move to www.remarpro.com software on a self hosting service then the money is probably gone. How long ago did you pay? I would email them and ask if they will refund you so you can move to a self hosted www.remarpro.com site.
I just migrated one of my customers 2 weekends ago from wordpress.com over to a self hosted www.remarpro.com account. If you are interested in any assistance feel free to contact me privately. [bryce at bravobryce dot com]

In reply to: htaccess from Multisite instructions breaks installMod_Rewrite was not installed by default by Unbuntu 10.4. Once I enabled it everything worked perfect. Thanks for the push in the right direction. I didn’t know Ubuntu Apache install didn’t install it by default.

In reply to: htaccess from Multisite instructions breaks installThere wasn’t an htaccass in my public_html. So I had to create it. I was surprised that there wasn’t, I kinda thought the standard wordpress install would put one there but I must have been mistaken.
I will check the mod_rewrite. I’m pretty sure that it is though. I’ll post back in a bit.
