You can’t have two category fields on one blog form but here is the best resolution of this issue, in my opinion:
Edit your post form
You can include only one category field on your form
Edit the Category field.
Open the Advanced Options area.
In the “Type” box select “Checkbox”.
Save your edit. Now when you or your subscriber opens the blog form on the front end to create the blog there will be seen a printed list of all of your categories on the blog form wherever you placed the category field. Each category on the list will have a checkbox. The list of categories will have the SUB categories INDENTED from the PARENT categories. You can select any and all categories on this category list as search categories for the blog.
When you build your original category list in the admin backend you can have as many PARENT categories and SUB categories as you want. That is where you can set up your two PARENT categories and their SUB categories as you want them to be.
I would suggest that you build an explanatory comment into your blog form to request that the user select one or more SUB category from each of the PARENT categories or something like that to solve the problem of having two separate category groups.
In the blog form the categories will all be in one long list but you can ask your subscriber to select from that list however you like. Remember these categories are all just a way to search for blogs under a specific subject (category) so it is up to the subscriber to select the right search categories on their blog post so that other subscribers can find the post. It’s their job to get it right…
I am planning to go active with my community website project in mid March, PLEASE fix the delete user function issue by then. It would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Best regards, Bryan Womack
Please fix the delete user function. Your plugin is essential to my online community project and I love it. I would really appreciate your fixing the delete user function issue so that I don’t have remove a cancelled user individually from each of my sites. I don’t think this issue is something I can fix because all of the other functions of your plugin appear to be working for me but if you know of a tweak that I can make to get the delete user function to work I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you
Thank you for your response. This “shared logins pro” plugin is amazing. I have had to rebuild some of my websites to get green validation reports for the links to other of my websites. But when everything is in the green, your plugin is definitely perfect for the multi website online community I am building. I hope you can fix the “delete user” function issue.
Any thoughts on this issue? Is anyone else experiencing a failure of the “delete user” function like I am?
No. I have nine websites linked by your “shared logins pro” plugin. All nine sites have completely GREEN validation pages against each other. I just registered and created a new user on the one site that has the “paid membership pro” plugin setup. The new user creation activity was sent to and received by the other 8 sites properly and the new user was set up on the other 8 sites correctly. BUT then I DELETED the new user on the site where I had created the new user. The “delete user” OUTGOING activity was shown as expected on the deletion site outgoing to all of the other 8 sites but in answer to your question: There was no INCOMING “delete user” activity on any of the other 8 sites and NONE of the other 8 sites deleted the user.
Can you please advise on the status of repairing the “delete user” function in your plugin?
I hope that Shared Logins Pro support will respond to my inquiry about these two issues this week.
Yes I have 9 sites (yes 9) linked together with your plugin and the create user, login user and logout user functions appear to be working among all of the sites. One of the sites has a validation error with the other 8 sites but the create user, login user and logout user functions appear to be working even with that site that has the validation error report. I have tried to clear the validation error report but nothing I do has cleared the report even though the functions appear to be working. All of the other 8 site have green validation reports (no errors) even with the site that shows a validation error with all of the other 8 sites. I have enough familiarity with your plugin to believe that I have configured your plugin properly but I hope you can provide a way to get the user delete function to work and to clear the one site with the validation error report. Thank you.
