It’ll allow you to duplicate any widget and place it on whichever side bar you want.

Look for a plug-in called Role Manager, that’ll help with your first issue. Second issue, if you create a category called “news,” and then create a post under the “news” category… it will appear on both the front page and the news category page. So it works as you would expect automatically. Last question, I’m assuming you can edit it under the “Users” section of the control panel.

Any chance you’ll be updating Democracy so it’s fully functional with WordPress 2.1?

I too have been looking for a good newspaper theme. But I don’t think you’ll find anything like the NY Times site. It’s quite complex.

Both of your magazine sites look awesome! I too have been waiting for someone to create a really good magazine/newspaper theme. Thank you so much for doing this!

A big thing for me would be the ability to display posts throughout different rows and columns on the home page, and by category if we want. Exactly like you’re doing in both your examples. You display content both horizontally and vertically, and I’ve never quite been able to figure that out.

Another really cool thing you seem to be doing… in the Split Magazine site under the “Magazine” heading. You’ve got three posts there, each seem to have their own image associated with them. You click to see the full post, and there’s the full sized image as well. How’re you doing this? I’d definitely want this capability built in to the theme.

Anything else? Hmm… colors don’t matter much since that can be changed. The sidebar(s) should definitely be widgetized.

Not sure. Perhaps I just meant to say “another way.” What would be another way to accomplish this? Being new to WP, this method was all I could come up with.
