In reply to: Banner/Ads management systemYeah, I found WPAds too. And it’s nearly perfect for me, except for the fact that it can’t track click-throughs. ??
If Nick, or somebody, could add that feature that would be awesome.

In reply to: [New Plugin] My Page OrderThis is a great plug-in! Any chance of making a “My SubPage Order” plug-in? I’d love to be able to do the same thing for ordering my subpages.

In reply to: What would you like to see in a theme?Yes, that’s done using a plug-in. I’ll make sure the theme is compatible with it.
Out of curiosity, which plug-in do you use to accomplish that?
I don’t have anything else to add to my “wish list,” but I just want to thank you again for being willing to do this, halfbloodprince

In reply to: Changing Text 1 widget nameYou say it would not be simple, but does anyone know how to change those dynamically generated titles? (aka. Text1, Text2, Text3)
I’d like them to be renamed to whatever is in the “title” field. How would I go about doing this?

And yeah, tagging would be cool. I’d like to stick with magazine/newspaper themes really, since there aren’t a lot out there. It’s rather unique.

In reply to: Multiple Pages with Multiple Posts from Multiple Categories? You’d basically do the same thing that you did in your index.php. Just create static .php files: academics.php, campus.php, etc., and insert your multiple loops to achieve the desired effect. That’s how I’d approach it.

In reply to: What would you like to see in a theme?Personally I enjoy three column themes, or more. They feel less blog-ish. Widget support is fairly important. It makes updating the sidebar much easier.
One thing I’ve seen in newspaper/magazine type themes is content displayed over multiple rows and columns. I’m not sure how this is accomplished, but for examples see: washingtonpost.com, latimes.com or nytimes.com.

In reply to: Dynamic Sidebar based on page template?Indeed, how would that work?
So then could you have multiple, widgetized sidebars?

In reply to: captions with photos on a page or in a post. No, there isn’t a way in Word Press to add a caption to a photo. At least not right out of the box. From what I understand, and I’ve been trying to figure this out for a while as well, you need to wrap your images in a <div> and then style it with CSS..
I’ve yet to run into a plug-in that’ll accomplish this, but that would be awesome.

In reply to: What would you like to see in a theme?Right now I can’t think of any other plug-ins that I’d want it to work with out of the box. But I’ll let you know.
However… for the Split Magazine site. You have thumbnail images right above those three posts. When you click to view the full post, you see the full image as well. How do you accomplish this? If it’s a plug-in, then I’d want that to be compatible. ??
