In reply to: How to create a list of all multi-sites or blogs within one siteI just submitted the bug. Also, the menu tabs (Description, FAQ, etc.) are missing.

In reply to: How to create a list of all multi-sites or blogs within one siteHow strange. I just followed the link that Andrea_r posted, and that plugin page appears to be broken. Instead of a download button, there’s just a red bar. Is anyone else seeing that?

In reply to: Your opinions on my DVD news/blog site? It’s a pretty simple, functional layout for the most part, which is good in my view. I like the minimalist presentation of the posts on the home page, with the single line synopsis.
I think the header graphic is way, way too busy with all of those DVD covers in the background. It’s hard to read and is easily lost in the noise of all that advertising. That’s another issue, actually. I understand your need to advertise, but I think you need to tone it down a bit. I would get rid of the google ads in the posts themselves, which are distracting from your content. And I would certainly get rid of that banner in the header. It is comparable in size and competes too much visually with your header graphic.
I’m seeing a lot of validation errors, which you might want to take care of.
Good luck to you!

In reply to: Making the Blogroll validateThanks for the response!
“1) don’t force that behaviour on visitors….they hate it!”
Oh, trust me, I know that. I hate it too, but the client is dead set on it.
“2) use javascript”
The thing is, the client doesn’t want all of the blogroll items to open in a new window. Some of the links are internal, and those need to open in the same window. I would like a way to replace the target attr with javascript or a class that I can select with jQuery on a case by case basis, based on what the client selects in Links > Edit.
“3) wait for CSS3 which allows target behaviour”
HA! The client’s big on IE6 support. That ain’t gonna happen.
“4) switch to transitional”
This was a last minute requirement, and the site’s basically done. I would be wary of switching doctypes at this point.
“google xhtml strict target blank to see if you have more options I guess…..”
Yeah, I’m going to keep Googling.

In reply to: How to display the number of search results found (redux)Any ideas out there on how one would include a result count in the pagination? For instance, your search finds 25 results, and you’re showing 10 posts per page. Your page navigation would be:
<< Previous 1-10 11-20 21-25 Next >>
I’ve seen solutions like those above that will show “Displaying N of N results,” and I have seen solutions for numbered page navs (a la, Google) elsewhere… Is there a way to combine the two?
