Hi @dnho
I’m not showing that chatgpt.com has been blocked as a referral spammer on your site https://hogonext.com/. You should be all set with this.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Set default share imageHi @ravanh
You can do this, it is a bit outside our scope of support, but we do have a couple of developer guides here which show you how to change those:
Filter the default Open Graph Image tag, used when no Image can be found in a post.
Hi @raigor
Can you check the Newsletter tab in your Jetpack Settings?
Jetpack > Settings > Newsletter
Then look for the For each new post email, include section to see if it is set to Full Text or Excerpt.
This is a relatively new setting.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] great pluginCheers!
Hi @techinventix ,
It seems like your site’s directory URLs are being indexed by search engines. This can happen if your site’s robots.txt file or meta tags are not properly configured to prevent indexing of certain directories. Here are a few steps you can take:
- Check robots.txt: Ensure your
robots.txt
file is set to disallow indexing of the Jetpack plugin directories. You can add:
Disallow: /wp-content/plugins/jetpack/
- Meta Tags: Use meta tags to prevent indexing of specific pages or directories. Add
<meta name="robots" content="noindex">
to the pages you want to exclude. - Google Search Console: Use the URL removal tool in Google Search Console to request removal of these URLs from search results.
- Sitemap: Ensure your sitemap does not include these directories.
If the issue persists, please reply to this thread with more details.
Thank you!

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] 181422527/intermittentJetpack Downtime Monitoring checks your site every five minutes to see if it’s accessible.
If your site is slow to load, it could trigger a notice that your site is down. This can happen when your site is on shared hosting and another site on the server is seeing high levels of traffic or is misconfigured; this can slow down your site to the point where Monitor believes your site to be down.
When your site is reachable again, we also send a follow up email letting you know how long your site was down or inaccessible.
Currently there’s no way to adjust the time that Downtime Monitoring checks your site – it’s either on or off. If the frequency of the Downtime Monitoring notices is bothersome, you can always disable the feature. To do that:
- Log into your site, and go to Jetpack > Settings > Security.
- Scroll down to the “Downtime Monitoring” section.
- Click the “Get alerts if your site goes offline. We’ll let you know when it’s back up, too” option to disable it.

In reply to: [Jetpack Social] Can’t connectHi @jjbrawley
Do you get a particular error when trying to connect the social accounts?
I do see we’re unable to access your xmlrpc.php file, it just returns a blank page.
This file is used by Jetpack and other plugins and apps to connect to your site. It must return the following message:
XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.
You can see a working example here:
Since your site returns a 404 error for this page, I would recommend that you check the following:
- Can you see the /xmlrpc.php file at the root of your WordPress installation when accessing your site via FTP? If you don’t, then please try re-installing WordPress. You can do this by going to the Dashboard -> Upgrades page, then click the “Reinstall” button.
- Do you use any security plugins that may block access to this file? If so, could you try to disable them? You might also want to check your site’s .htaccess file for any rules that might be blocking access to the xmlrpc.php file.
- Does your hosting provider block access to this file? If you don’t find any plugin that may block access to the file on your site, I would recommend that you get in touch with your host.
Once we are able to access your site’s xmlrpc.php file, please try to reconnect your social accounts.
If you want to learn more details about XML-RPC and how it interacts with Jetpack, you can check out our detailed guide here: https://jetpack.com/support/jetpack-and-xml-rpc

Hi @the5krunner
Is this a separate issue? I looked at your Jetpack connection and everything looks good. Can you tell us some more about the hanging issues?
Thanks for the update. I’m not sure what you experienced was expected behavior, so I’ll look into that a little more on our end.
Hi @gabybitar
I still think it could be because of the redirect of xmlrpc, but I have also made another change to see if it helps with the emails.
- Check robots.txt: Ensure your
