That’s beyond the scope of this plugin’s functionality, I’m afraid. Any other plugin which adds or changes smilies by altering the $wpsmiliestrans global should work properly with this one.

This plugin is no longer under active development (I’m only here to do a final update of the code’s version and readme file) and I’m sorry that I’m not going to be able to help you further.

I’ve done testing with WordPress v4 and I have been unable to replicate the issue. On several different test installations (including one upgraded from v3.3.1) the JPEG quality setting appears properly in the “Media” subpage and works as intended. I don’t know why you’re having this problem.

Having finally gotten around to doing some reading on the subject, I’m going to be completely honest here: I do not currently have the time to implement proper multisite support, and also I do not have a good way to test that support even if I tried to add it. I could do a half-assed job involving a lot of cut-and-pasting other peoples’ code, but nobody wants to see that.

All of my plugins are Apache licensed, so if you would like to create a modified version of SimpleJPEGQuality for your own use (or have someone else do it for you), you have my blessing.

I’m not doing a lot of WordPress development right now aside from keeping these plugins tested on newer WP versions. If you can point me at some documentation on how to make a plugin more MultiSite-friendly, I’ll see what I can do.
