I saw somewhere that you had tried AdSense? For HTML ads (like AdSense), the widget simply drops the code on the page without much more magic.

Do you suppose you could email [email protected] or [email protected] and we’ll work through it? The 1/5 star is pretty devastating, especially when the plugin has served so many without issue, and it’s likely not a problem with the plugin itself.

Many times, AdSense serves “blanks” because the user has no known profile or simply isn’t targeted by an exchange. If you were using incognito, there would be no known profile, so AdSense may very well serve a blank.

Ad blockers have complicated rules to figure out what are and aren’t ads. So other widgets generally wouldn’t be affected.

Can you tell us what problem you’re having in 4.1? I’m testing but I’m not having a problem. I want to figure this out before we push the 4.1 update.

Hey everyone, this is such a simple plugin that it’s hard to imagine an update caused that much havoc. It think this might be a problem with WordPress updating, which I’ve seen with other plugins too.

It sounds like this was an invalid image. When you upload the image, do you see a preview inside the WordPress upload window?

I’m not sure this is an issue with ad-widget. It could actually be responsive styling or something else at play.

This widget drops the ad code in regardless of mobile device (unless you have another plugin overriding that).
