Thanks Christine for the quick reply. I just had a quick look at the link you sent and want to make sure on this, do I need to install one of the plugins/programs from that site? Or can I just do another install of WP through the c-Panel from my hosting company, as that will create a new database for me and I can just change the address of where it is going such as #2 in my example above?

When I am happy with #2 all I need to do is change the address in the General tab of my Settings in WP?

My guess would be the runaway PHP process as I have another site hosted with the same host and have not had any issues with it. The 2 years I paid with these guys (Mochahost) is coming to an end in a month or 2 and I will NOT be renewing with them, as I have not been impressed over the last 2 years when I have had a question from them and needed support, the typical response was “I don’t have that level of access” even when just asking for an opinion on something so I guess the copy/paste robots can not think for themselves.

So I did not see anything being hit excessively at all, my host finally replied to my email and this was their response:

“The issue brought to your attention in this ticket is regarding excessive server load from your website.
The load was caused by php processes.
Please optimise your website in order not to cause server load.
We will wait for your reply.”

I have no idea what this is supposed to mean, how should I be optimising my site? I do still have FTP capabilities as well as access to the cPanel.

Yup I really like and need the availability for that interaction with comments etc…I recently was hacked on a WordPress site and am currently looking around, and from your site I found the StudioPress page and their Genesis framework is looking pretty good to me, so I will be doing a little more research into it. Is it something you would recommend? I would guess yes since you do have a very large site, do you get weekly backups for your site??

Thank you Kionae for your response. How/where would I get access to the sites access logs, would that be somewhere in the c-panel for my site? They have made my site “temporarily unavailable” right now but I can still access into the cpanel as well as through ftp. Not sure if this would help with anything but this is the rest of the email I received from them:

WOW!!, Great looking site and very well done with an awful lot of great info Joe. I have bookmarked it for further viewing pleasure and from just a quick look at it, I don’t think I have ever seen as much info on any other fan sites for any band. I hope that Tony gets better and we get to see the original line-up on tour sometime this year in Canada.

I love the blog format where people are able to respond to any of the posts. Did you design your own template? and what else is involved in the making of your site as far as plugins etc and anything else required?

It’s all good Esmi, thanks for the help/ideas you did give me. As I said I inherited a mess so it’s probably going to save me a lot of work in the long run, the previous person had 3 instances of everything on the backend, including thousands of huge images etc. The site will be down for a couple of days and the owner is ok with that so….

After a lot of suggestions and different plugins that did not do what they said they wee supposed to do, I finally found one that will put a splash screen up on your website with an Admin login. So all visitors to your site will get the screen telling them whatever you want them to know while you can login and do whatever work on your site.

Just had a look at everything on backend and I inherited a HUGE MESS, so starting over from scratch and deleting 3 instances of WP!!!

Ipstenu, I do understand the ratio of people needing help. I went out for a few hours and just got back and checked to see if I had any other ideas or suggestions. I know that in any forum that I am part of that if I read a post and can help or offer something I will do so.

So for my understanding I just need to restore or upload the users table only from my database backup file, so basically over write what is there with backup? I just want to be clear on this before I proceed…Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated!

Yes I get weekly backups of Themes, Plugins, uploads and database emailed to me. Do I just need the database one? and if so I have no idea what I need to do with because as I said I am fairly new to WP and have not come across a reason to need them yet. But I am pretty computer literate and can follow instructions as need be.

If by being greyed out means it is empty I guess so, but I do not understand why or how it could be. I was on the site yesterday afternoon and everything was fine and then when I went to go on it late lastnight and again today I just have a white page. I also just tried renaming my active theme via FTP and refreshed everything and it did not revert back to the TwentyEleven theme as expected.
