In reply to: [Bento] background image in predefined layoutWhat the fork.
The reply I posted last night is gone.I tried two themes, with the same results.
I have disabled every plug in, with no changes.
I have contacted the host to see if there is something weird with how they have it configured. Waiting to hear back.
I’ve checked the htaccess file and commented out everything, but nothing there should have been a problem.
I’ve made sure my URL settings are consistent in search console and wordpress general settings.I am more than a bit lost on this one.

In reply to: [Bento] background image in predefined layoutHi there –
To state the obvious, I get “Safari Can’t Open the Page” when changing the layouts.2) New information. When I change it in Customizer to have my latest posts be the home page, the site works fine.
3) Redirect detective shows the redirect loop you mentioned.
strange that a redirect loop would all of a sudden occur now. Hasn’t been a problem ever. The .htaccess file only shows Rewrites to redirect to index.php if a page that doesn’t exist is called.
I wish I could show you the file.4) The “fix ” for correcting the loop is to clear the cookies.
In chrome I get that message – only when the home page is selected to show up as the first page, as selected in Customizer. When Latest Posts is selected in Customizer, Home Page Settings, the site appears fine. After clearing the cookies and checking the .htaccess file, the “home” page still won’t load.5) No changes other than trying to change the dang layout pics, which don’t go into effect when I’m changing them or I’m changing them in the wrong place
6) And when you have a moment, I’ve checked the header image in the Homepage Settings in the Customizer panel and there isn’t one.
Where is the header that you’re talking about?Edit: clarified, added the numbers, added conclusions after research and “fix”

In reply to: [Bento] background image in predefined layoutHi there:
Im back at it this afternoon and for several more days.
I’ve checked the header image in the Homepage Settings in the Customizer panel and there isn’t one.
I’ve switched the home page to Home now… and so you’ll see it when you get to BrigidGreene.com.
Where is the header that you’re talking about?It seems like all the images of the Bento Layouts won’t be overridden
When I chose a new theme for the page, it seemed to save but then stopped access to the site
So I can access the WP-admin area but not BrigidGreene.com–
it fails at View Page or when I just type in the URL (BrigidGreene.com)Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Bento] background image in predefined layoutLOL. well I guess that is my cultural bias or my unconscious desire to have an ice cream sandwich. It’s a kind of a cookie – the tan one, the pink one… cookie with a filling, preferably ice cream but it could be anything.
The image behind the swimming woman.I’ll have intermittent and rare electronic access until the middle of October due to a meditation retreat starting this afternoon!

In reply to: [Bento] Sub-Menu item spacing super badThank you satoristudio !
I have taken out my custom css in simple custom css and applied font changes through customization, making the primary menu look much better.
I also changed the alignment, which also improves things.2) There is still way too much space between sub menu items… and maybe that was supposed to have been addressed in part by Add Webb, but those comments don’t work for me. I’ve replied and we’ll see what the response is. In addition, though, the font size of the sub menus is too much smaller than the menu size.
In the mean time I’ll try your response to my other issue.
Thanks again.
Edit – added the submenu font size change issue in 2)

In reply to: [Bento] Sub-Menu item spacing super badThis is primarily for Add Webb
I was very happy to receive your thoughtful response.
Unfortunately I do not find the references you mention in either the style.css or the simple custom css.
As there is not a place here to upload pics, I’ve made a page to show you what I mean….

In reply to: [Genesis Responsive Slider] Ghost excerpt boxThanks, Ron.
I see that code using Firebug, however when I search the main css for .slide-excerpt-border, there is only one entry:.slide-excerpt-border p {
font-weight: 900 !important;
color: #000000 !important;
border: 0px !important;}I’ve checked the filename – it’s the same file all (90%) of the Css is, and where I’ve been making changes.
Usually the CSS doesn’t start with html. I don’t know what difference that makes. Do you?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Genesis Responsive Slider] Image Size and Position in Sliderokay. will do. thanks.

In reply to: [Genesis Responsive Slider] Image Size and Position in SliderMax size sounds like that’s the maximum size.
In any case, I have also made some slides 1250 x 430 and they are also positioned lower than center, and look like they are expanded. Nothing looks right in the slider.
