  • Hello again,
    I have been searching around to look into this issue and I just wanted to come back and say I can’t believe the utter confusion that this logo/icon/gravatar issue seems to be causing amongst other WordPress users.
    I began wondering why my readers get a box of squiggles as a logo from my post subscriptions, but I’m now wondering if they do get the same image, or do they get something else based on their own preferences and email address? This is all just too weird; why are you doing this to us? Surely our website posts should just be delivered as subscription emails by Jetpack bearing a logo or image we have selected ourselves from our own image gallery.

    Hi,
    I have come here for the same issue. Are you seriously saying that the techy guys at WordPress hadn’t actually realised that people and businesses with a website might actually want to send out emails with their own logo at the head? Instead we get a strange box with some jagged squiggles in. Just weird.

    Mrrodendo,

    Well as I said I tried what you said. It didn’t seem to make any difference, but then I updated WordPress to the latest version and everything seems to be ok now with the menus in the right place!

    I’m not sure which bit made the difference or if it was a combination.

    Thank you very much for your help.

    Mrrodeno,

    Thanks for your suggestion. I have pasted this:

    #logo {
    float: left;
    margin: 0;
    }

    into the ‘logo’ section of the CSS using the ‘Edit’ facility in my WordPress site, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.

    The selection menus should be at the top of the page next to the logo, but I don’t know if they have been shifted down because there is a shortage of space or if they are sitting lower because there is some padding in there somewhere.

    Just confused!

    Thanks for you help though.

    Update on the issue.

    Since the problems mentioned above occurred when I updated my WordPress and Jetpack, I have had a look through what they offer. The new Carousel feature in Jetpack seems to offer the simplicity I need so I have now converted my galleries to that and no longer use SimplestGallery.

    I would like to say thank you to SimplestGallery! It was a very useful feature on my website, but I only needed it at the most basic level. I am sure for those who want more advanced features it continues to be an excellent plugin.

    Hi,

    More problems! SimplestGallery has stopped another of its functions. I used to have it set with no labels ahowing in the gallery, but when you clicked on an image to make it larger you could hover your mouse over the image to get details. This no longer functions. So now you either have to have it set for no labels at all, or have it set to show labels and the label sits permanently over your image.
    The galleries are a really important part of my website so I would appreciate some help on this if possible please.
    Regards,
    M

    Hi,

    I have encountered a similar problem with my website. The galleries now have spaces in the grid and I can’t seem to solve the problem. I think it has happened since I updated WordPress or Jetpack.

    I like the SimplestGallery plugin, but I ned to find a solution to this problem if anyone can find one please.
    Regards,
    M
