I saw in another thread that people tried the “Use Google Libraries” plugin to fix the problem. I tried it and sure enough, it’s working again! I don’t know WHY, mind you, but I’m not going to ask questions. I’m just glad it works!

Clearing the cache made no difference, will report back on the manual upgrade.

I believe I am having the same problem only for me it makes no difference if it’s trying to edit an existing post or to start a new one.

I can only see the HTML tab, when I click the visual tab nothing happens, it may as well not even be there. My screen looks the same as TheResistance’s, all of my editing buttons are gone and only the media/insert link is showing.

This is VERY frustrating.

I have done the following:

1) Turned off ALL plugins (no difference)
2) Tried other themes (including TwentyTen (no difference)
3) Other browsers, restarting (no difference)
4) Checked preferences to make sure that the disable visual editor thingie was unchecked.

No matter what I do, I have no visual editor.

That would be great. Any idea when the next version is coming out? I love this plugin (as do many!), can’t wait for the update ??

I got the same error with every attempt to upgrade plugins and when I try to upgrade to 2.8

Hrmm ok I deleted a load of stuff off my site, like old themes, forums and plugins that I wasn’t using and when my husband got up he said the popup was gone. I’m not sure where the problem was but it looks like I got rid of it somehow.

My husband is still in bed but when he wakes up I’ll ask him for a screenshot of the popup. I asked him last night to check if it was just my main blog page or if it happened everywhere on my site and he said it doesn’t matter what page he tries, he still gets the popup.

My website is at https://www.Breigh.com , I have since removed the code that put the spam in the footer but I’m 100% sure it wasn’t there last month, I just noticed it last week.

I am running version 2.2 of wordpress. I get the feeling that it has something to do with something that happened when I upgraded to version 2.2, I was using version 1.6 (I think) before that.

But how would someone be able to add text to my footer? It confuses me… does someone else have access to my wordpress?

I made a special categories.php file to create the categories page, is that what you mean? It’s the categories.php and archives.php that I made that make the pages.

This is my categories.php file, I tried changing the_excerpt to the_content but nothing changes.. it still shows only the titles.

Yeah I did find info on the_content vs the_exerpt but the problem is I have neither of those in the code for my page so I’m confused as to where it goes.

The monthly archives are the same just by month.

To be honest, it was absolute ages ago that I made these pages and I can’t remember where I found the code for them. I did find them on this site but when I looked up the templates on here recently they didn’t look the same.

All mine seems to do is call for the list of categories. It doesn’t specify how much of the post to show.

So I’m a bit confused…
