In reply to: upgrading from 2.3.2Also, i am a bit perplexed, maybe.
The current install of wordpress is in a sub directory called “wp”.
when i navigate to the url the current wordpress install appears. The root contains an index.php file, i haven t opened, but i am assuming there is something in there pointing or re-directing to the wp folder?

In reply to: upgrading from 2.3.2issues
in the OLD install, the “images” folder is in the root, but the wordpress install is in “wp” so after making all changes and such, headers and custom images are not appearing in the “new”.
Can i just drop the images folder into the new install folder?Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: upgrading from 2.3.2Shane, not sure what you mean exactly by : “make sure that you can take a complete backup of your blog details..”

In reply to: upgrading from 2.3.2OK so Ive begun the steps in the “detailed” instructions:
Ive backed up the DB and ive also completely backed up the public_html directory.
my issue now is this:
Instruvtions read…
DO NOT DELETE these folders and files:
* wp-config.php file;- this is Present
* wp-content folder;- this is Present
* wp-images folder–only older installations from 1.5.x days will have this folder; not there, but know why
* wp-includes/languages/ folder–if you are using a language file, and it is here rather than in wp-content/languages/, do not delete this folder (you might want to move your language files to wp-content/languages/ for easier upgrading in the future);.
not there, but i he doesn’t use any language but English…
* .htaccess file–if you have added custom rules to your .htaccess, do not delete it; Not Present in root or wp directory
* Custom Content and/or Plugins–if you have any images or other custom content or Plugins inside the wp-content folder, do NOT delete them. there ARE some present, so i will retain themSo is it ok that htaccess and language folder isnt there?
Also, i plan on doing these changes locally them uploading just the wp directory back to the server and running the upgrade php file That work?
