In reply to: [Buddypress Xprofile Custom Fields Type] Extending with PodsThank you for this answer.
Something must have gone wrong on my side, but that means it can surely be fixed. I’ll give it a try again and post the result here.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Garbage ?After more tests, I conclude that:
1. .docx is not at all handled by Google (it produces full garbage).
2. .doc is handled but without accuracy (same bugs than when opening a .doc with TextEdit or Mac OS preview, BTW); accuracy problem is, by example, the head letter being separated from her paragraph, which is a disaster design wise.
3. Word 2013 (and I suspect other versions) produce flawed PDF by default (fonts are not displayed correctly, but it works accurately if you force Word to produce a PDF/A.
I don’t see problems with the plugin itself but with both Google and Microsoft. They really need to do their homework.
Anyway, thank you for your kind support. ??

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Garbage ?I updated with a PDF.
If you check it, you’ll see that the text fonts are displayed randomly.
But if you download the PDF and watch it with your own PDF viewver (Acrobat or anything else), the document will show accurately.
You can easily compare the downloaded PDF with the one currently displayed to understand what’s not going right.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Garbage ?OK, so, after testing :
– .docx doesn’t work
– .doc work but result is not accurate
– .pdf work but result is vastly not accurate
Is this because of Google’s tools limitations or because another problem?
Everything made using Word 2013.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Plugin not working suddenlyThank you for the insight.
And I want to add that it’s not against you. I really like your work, but I’m getting fed up more and more with Google which is not reliable. Hence my analogy with Microsoft.
But, what, saying that to Google is useless, which is why I’m saying that here, because I think you can make the difference.
So, yeah, I’ll find another solution, since the Google way is more and more a Godwin point, but I’ll also keep confident you all guys will be able somehow to be better than Google.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Plugin not working suddenlySo, I am loggued in Google account, it doesn’t work. I log out, it works.
I’m sorry, but I can’t accept that. It’s not your fault, but that’s not acceptable for my users. It’s Microsoft IE6 standard, not Internet standard.
I totally missed that powerful feature ! It’s very impressive, thank you very much for that.
I have some tweaking to do for the rest of the page, but that’s just awesome.
Thank you again, you made my day. ??
Thank you very much for your kind answer.
Problem is that it shows a list, and I want to show the full event page directly on frontpage. Is there any way to achieve this?
Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Can't log in anymore to the network admin.OK, answering myself.
In the db, I changed in “wp_user” the value “user_login” back to the normal one.
Seems to have fixed things.First, thank you very much for this kind answer.
I will try to explain my problem better, since it might be useful for many people.
I have my own domains – let’s call them mydomain1.com, mydomain2.com, etc. – and I had my web hosting domain that I will call hosting.com.
When I created my network, my mistake have been to use mydomain1.com instead of hosting.com as my primary blog.
As you know, once the network is created, you can’t map any domain to the primary blog ; it is stuck to the domain you choose, without even the ability to use the www prefix for it.
Also, which was another misleading thing, the option for mapping is of course not available on the primary blog.
Once I understood that the domain mapping plugin was indeed working properly by checking secondary blogs, my problem was to be able to map something to my primary blog.
The solution was to create another secondary blog which would receive mydomain1.com, and that I would be able to map the way I wanted (www prefix, and some other domains pointing to it).
Once the secondary blog was created, I download my config file, changed domain1.com into hosting.com.
Then, I install the plugin “Search & Replace”, asked it to look for “domain1.com” and replace it with “hosting.com” in my sql database.
Once done, I uploaded the new wp-config file, and it worked beautifully. I now have a useless site on my network, which will be used for prototyping designs as I work on them and all (and so, it becomes useful), and my primary blog (which is now technically a secondary blog) works the way I intended it to. ??
Yes, I can (change the primary domain name).
To do that, I used a wonderful and life saving plugin named “Search and Replace”.
It allowed to search and replace directly on my database the now old primary domain name with the new one. It worked beautifully, and I have been able to finish my network domain mapping.
Now it works as intended. ??
OK, I understood what went wrong, and I almost got it to work.
But I have another problem.
I have a primary blog which is on a primary domain. Let’s call it domain1.com. My network works with subdomains. So, I have in the end:
domain1.com
sub1.domain1.com -> https://www.domain2.com
sub2.domain1.com -> https://www.domain3.comAnd, in order to avoid domain squatting, domain2a.com points to https://www.domain2.com, domain3a.com points to https://www.domain3.com
As I understood, we can’t change domain1.com mapping, in order to have it pointing to https://www.domain1.com and having domain1a.com and so.
What can I do?
Do I have to buy a random domain name to my primary blog, so that I can properly use my domain name? But can I change my primary blog domain name?…
I just tried the new code, and it works perfectly now.
That’s an awesome support.
Thanks, guy.Ah, that’s great!
Looking forward for it.(Current version being the test build you sent me.)
