I just spoke to Earthlink tech support. They told me they are putting their “engineers” on it. It will take 48-72 hours just to get an answer back. I’m switching hosts. Earthlink is over-priced anyway. Found a great deal here: https://www.hostgator.com/resellers.shtml

Asked for my WordPress password and now holding for another few minutes.

Took all my info and said they are going to get the “engineers” on the problem. Starting a new ticket and telling me it’s going to take 48-72 hours.

Meanwhile I am saying goodbye to Overpriced Earthlink hosting and transferring my site. I’m not paying my outstanding bill, either. They made me waste a whole day trying to figure this out when it was all on their end.

I am hosted on Earthlink. I have no specific error, just a blank screen when I hit add new post, and Quickpress no longer displays. I can edit old stories fine and everything else works like it always did.

I tried both of your suggestions. It is definitely not a plug-in or a theme issue. I know I am not the only one with this problem. I do have an older backup, but I would rather get the new WordPress to work.

OK, I just spent a couple hours making sure to follow these instructions to the letter. Nothing changed. I still cannot post new blog stories. This is really crippling my business. I had 85,000 hits on my site on the 26th. Yesterday I only had 36,000. The site is entirely reliant on WordPress. If I can’t use wordpress, I can’t do my job. Please help me resolve this issue.

When I try to add new posts in 3.0 I get a completely blank page. Quickpress is also no longer functional. I disabled all my plugins and still have the same problem.

THIS ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED AND SHOULD NOT BE LABELED AS RESOLVED. Someone jumped in and inserted a new issue that isn’t related to the issue that started this thread. Please tell us what to do to fix the NEW POST issue. This is really hurting my business right now.

I have no problem with my blog theme or look. I need an answer for what to do about posting a new blog entry. The page doesn’t load. It just comes up blank and says done. My blog is fine other than that one main problem of being unable to add new posts. Is there any fix for this yet? My business is paralyzed if I can’t figure this out soon. Please do something about this.

I never had this problem before I upgraded. Isn’t upgrading supposed to fix problems instead of adding them?

So how do I fix it, put it on the code editor?

Here’s the fix I found in another thread in case anyone’s having the same issue. It’s looking awesome now.

Try going to your wp-config.php file and deleting these two lines:

define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’);
define(‘DB_COLLATE’, ”);

I had the same problem (it’s fixed now) and I believe it is because of upgrading from pre 2.0 versions to 2.2 through Fantastico.
