Sorry for the delay in replying, I’ve been out in the countryside with no signal on my phone. When I finally got a signal back my phone went mad, pinging me emails for all the new hacking attempts!

It’s an absolute nightmare isn’t it. I am trying to figure out if it’s bots and harmless, or whether I am literally being bombarded by hackers.

Ahhh, I see, I suppose there are about 10 possible places I log in from, so could just add all of those. What a great idea!

Thanks for the replies guys. I am going to install that plugin now, and Esmi, no my IP is totally different.

What happens is that the User gets locked out for an hour, I am using BPS Security, think it might be something to do with that.

Thanks dionsis, it’s happened about 4 times today, absolute nightmare. There is only ever me logged in – and just the single site on the server, so I hoped it would be able to run it ok but obviously not.

Thanks for your response, I tried a few things off that page but no joy.
My host company blame WordPress – although I suspected it was their server. I tried disabling all my plugins to no avail.

I started my own thread because there was a few posts saying you should start your own as per the forum rules. Hope I did the right thing.

As it stands my site is down at the mo, can’t get into the back end either.

Thanks Krishna, and sorry I missed your reply. I’ve messed up a few files in wp-config, so wanted to replace that as well. Other than ‘uploads’ and ‘gallery’, just checking it will still work if I do that.

Thanks Lee, the only thing different to those guides is that I will be deleting wp-content, but re-uploading the following folders:

uploads
gallery

Will this still work?
