If you can’t find the plugin, maybe try to have a look into theme files – typically functions.php if there isn’t something what’s sending notifications when the new post is published.

Did the splitter script work? Anyway, when I was talking about replicating the site on the local server and moving it back to live server, I was working with assumption, that once the site is working locally you would FTP the files over, reimport database using for example PhpMyAdmin, so you wouldn’t definitely face this problem as you would be using completely different way of importing data. Sorry, I should have mentioned that.

I would say that problem maybe caused by the limited resources on your server. If I had to complete this task, I would probably replicate the main site to local webserver on my PC, then imported other two sites locally and once everything tested, I would move it to live server.

What data do you want to display in dropdowns? Are you talking about dropdown in navigation or are you talking about dropdown which will be serving to diferent purpose then navigation?
