I’m also experimenting the same issue with WP 2.8.2
Don’t know if my sysadmin enabled the PHP Magic quotes, but slashed appears when editing a comment within the admin panel.

Comments from the web don’t show this behavior.

Got the cause (but not the workarround yet). The problem is related to LOCALIZATION.

My blogs are in Spanish, so I define whte WP_LANG variable in wp-config.php this way:

define (‘WPLANG’, ‘es_ES’);

But if I set it to it’s original value, the theme preview will work again:
define (‘WPLANG’, ”);

If I find a workaround I will post it here.

Same here. The problem appeared in two newer WP 2.7.1 installations. The other one was a blog updated from 2.6.x to 2.7.1 and goes fine. ??

These is GPL-free work. And people prevents sharing (in fact it was designed to promote feee music).

Since It’s GPL, I’ve hacked it to disable the song downloading.
