Since posting my initial message, I have changed the name of the directory to “newsletter”, and this fixed several other problems. But not the import problem.

I’ve not had a problem with a 404 after redirection though. I hope you manage to fix it.

I’m having the same problem too.

2.3.1 running locally is fine, but 2.3.2 running on the server omits the “Thumbnail” option. I have emailed the host, and they insist that GD is running. I’ve not got PodPress installed (which some threads cite as the culprit).

Image sizes are fine (tested the same image with both versions)

Any ideas gratefully received.

Fixed it.

I can’t believe that I spent so long on this, then fixed it so quickly after posting this message!

Just in case anyone else has a similar problem, it was down to the way I was trying to use MAMP. I was entering the IP address given to me by “Personal Web Sharing” in the OS X Control Panel. I should have been using https://localhost:8888/instead
