Steven, you are correct.

I switched to the 2019 theme, (it let me do that at least).
The problem went away.
Switched back… the problem came back.

I guess I need a new theme till they update the old one.

The problem may be your browser settings and not the homepage at all.

Thanks… will look at that… may need a bit of time as my brain is fried after all the problems I had today…

Played around for an hour and couldn’t find anything. Installed a thumbnail plug in and it gave an error… ‘this theme doesn’t support thumbnails’.

Maybe it doesn’t. The theme ‘Gemer’ may be making it’s own version of thumbnails.
For now I’ve installed a theme I’m more familiar with even though I’d like to use Gemer instead if I can get it working properly.

I saw on the Japanese version of Wordpess that somebody had the same problem with the theme and they fixed it via php.

Just re-installed the Gemer theme but can’t see a thumbnail option anywhere….

Will have a look at adding in html for it in the post… but thought it should be more automatic… ??

Thanks. Yes, I just had the white screen kiss of death and had to re-install from scratch. Lost about 5 days of posts.
I have a different theme on there now.
Will have a look at that and see if I can do what you suggest.

A bit scared to switch themes again right now as there may be a bug with the latest version that is causing the white screens. It happened on 2 of my sites tonight and had no choice but to use back ups to re-install them.
