  • Has anyone been able to resolve this in a Yahoo hosted setting? I upgraded to 2.9 and have the exact same scenario. And Yahoo does not let us access htaccess.
    I can use file manager to get to the uploads area of wp-content and I see that all of my photos are still there. And when I go to the Media Library, it shows 246 images. But I get the ‘no media attachments found’ message.
    Surely there must be a fix without having access to the htaccess file. Yahoo has LOTS of wordpress installations!
    Please help, someone.

    Like many of you, I also lost the visual editor when I moved to 2.8. Also lost the flash uploader for media files. Tried many of your suggestions including reinstalling twice, but no good. Then decided to click the ‘Compatibility mode’ button (I am using IE8) and EVERYTHING works perfectly. This may not be the problem for all of you, but if anyone is running IE8 and is having issues, try it. Clearly, something is not playing well between WP and IE8…

    My two cents is that I like your overall look, but I believe you would be much better served with only one sidebar. With your main content in the middle and a sidebar on each side, you don’t have enough width anywhere. When I tried to read the content on the right side, it hurt my brain to see the huge spacing and few words on a line. One sentence can take 4 or 5 inches to display. If you dropped one sidebar and used more width for your content, I think the look would be much more pleasing…
