I am not the original purchaser. This a club site and I am volunteering to try and take over the support. I will have to see if we can contact the original designer who donated the site.

I can’t find a support contact just faqs or purchase option for the new Pro version which is a big change not really an upgrade.

I am satisfied with my upgrade to 4.8 Except I can’t save the Header Image. I am running mamp for this upgrade test before going live. I am using Education Child theme with Genesis framework.I just added another image and it saved. Now I hide the image and select the default image and it views on the screen but won’t save.

This is most frustrating as it the last known bug of the upgrade but is a show stopper.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

https://abbotsfordlions.ca shows the logo on WordPress 3.? that I am trying to save.

I fixed the edit page text problem. I had db.php in wp-content, it was a solution I had with running the old version in mamp.

But I still can’t save my header logo.

I am running this in Mamp local server. But my other two sites on it work ok.

The displayed pages shows ? marks so I need to edit the text to see what the ? are about.

Maybe I should do my install of 4.8 over. I missed a step as I reviewed the extended install docs. I didn’t deactivate my plugins before doing the install.

I have deactivated all plugins and tried twenty seventeen theme and have the same problem. I can display the page but when I edit the page the edit window is empty. Weird.
As well it will not save my header image.

I found a solution for my last problem of not being able to login.

Half success. I have found a solution consisted of loading db.php to my WordPress content directory (wp-content/) The site runs but I can’t login. So close.

I wait for db.php writer support.

Well, success. I have two local sites loaded on MAMP. They are working just fine so MAMP is a workable localhost. Not using the pro version. Not needed.

I am still researching my MySQL extension problem. Most of it is greek to me.

That error message is on Google but all the solutions are above my pay level. It appears WordPress 4.8 doesn’t use the same MySQL extension used by 3.5. so for the moment, I am hooped. It’s too bad since I really wanted to run it locally for testing upgrading to WordPress 4.8
