In reply to: how to export and activate pluginThanks! Somehow I got Subscribe2 to activate for my site. I did the network activate, but always got a screen saying subscribe2 cannot be activated on a network level, please activate it for each site. I’m not sure what I did wrong there or what I did right tonight. I’ll take a look at that article.

In reply to: how to get old site backYes I think they did. However, in previous versions of wordpress, there was an option under site tools that allowed you to import an xml file that contained all your posts and pages. There was also an export tool here to export your files to an xml file to be imported. I did one of these about 6 months ago, but once I get that imported there isn’t much I need to do since I made very few changes to the site in the last 6 months. However, I cannot find the site tools. The dashboard seems to now display network configurations and I have no clue where to go for this site stuff.

In reply to: help wanted with commentingOops, could a mod please delete that last post? I doesn’t look like we can delete posts and after looking at the ip blocker, it looks like it won’t do any good as all it does is hold the comments in the queue which it is already doing.

In reply to: SPAMWould using the ip blacklist help my problem at all? I don’t pay that much attention to my ip addresses, but even the same author uses different ip addresss. I’m using Akismet as my spam filter if this makes any difference. I also have another thread open on this topic.

In reply to: help wanted with commentingHmm. These are good suggestions that I’ll think about. However, I am not a big fan of those sites where you have to register to comment because I may only use it once. This also doesn’t solve the problem that I am not getting a single real comment and it seems that this step would only make it worse. I am also not a huge fan of captcha plugins, I really don’t want my users to have to fill out one of those to comment.

In reply to: How do I create a Child ThemeTaylor, what you could also do is develop the theme locally, zip the files, and then use the install themes option found under appearance themes.

In reply to: posts appear to be there but they're notOk I reset the permalinks and now it’s working again. However, while we’re on the topic of permalinks, my ideal structure would be something like this, yourdomain.com/April2011/06/postname. Is there a way I can set it up to do this?

In reply to: php mail updateI didn’t even catch the fact that he posted a link. Now that you mention it, I’ll check it out. I don’t think this is a temporary problem as I sent myself a test message and it never came. I did this just the other day.

In reply to: need help with feedbacksI think it’s the grunion contact form plugin that might be the problem as this is I think the only plugin that adds the feedbacks section to the dashboard, right? How can I prevent this from happening with future posts? The other thing I found weird is that I just tried a test post and I didn’t save that as a draft and it didn’t come up on my feedbacks.

In reply to: need help with feedbacks1. Will do, will open a support ticket with my host today or tomorrow.
2. I’m not clear on what you mean when you say front end as opposed to backend. What I am doing is logging into my site from this link, https://bobcavanaugh.pcriot.com/wp-admin. Once logged in, I click the feedbacks link in my dashboard.
