In reply to: category pages showing most recent postI don’t think the content block in the archives template was modified from its default behavior, the modifications were done to the sidebar.

In reply to: files fail upload testMy host limits me to 128 MB, but that’s plenty for my needs. It does look like I’m going to have to adjust the max post size from 8 to 16 MB, but now that I know how to do that it should take me all of about 30 seconds. I’m really not sure what I did as when I reverted everything to defaults the max upload size stayed the same, which allowed me to upload what I needed to.

In reply to: files fail upload testI’m not sure what I did, but it looks like I inadvertently changed something else when I went into my C-Panel to increase my file size upload limit last night. The site health check identified this as a critical issue, and when I reset my configuration to its default settings, things worked again.

In reply to: files fail upload testI have no idea if this actually captures the error as it seems to flash by pretty quickly, but here’s what I was able to capture. https://snipboard.io/tOLYVK.jpg

In reply to: categories list with only child categoriesThat’s what I want to do, only list the child categories of one parent. Currently, the categories list is showing all parents and children, which is not what I want.

In reply to: Are redirect links a known thing in WordPress? Thanks Georgia. On the site referenced, /convention didn’t actually exist, so the guessing function would apply here. As the site in question is rather old and was built long before we switched to WordPress, a theory arose that somehow a redirect had been set up in C-Panel, and not having access to C-Panel and not understanding the guessing function lead to a several month delay in getting the page where we wanted. I had created a page called convention-info last summer and renaming that to convention did actually work the way we expected, but we weren’t sure what was causing the redirect, so that lead to a several month delay in getting that page renamed. Changing that PHP looks like it’s a little over my head, and now that we understand what’s actually going on I’m inclined to leave it in standard configuration, but I’ll at least bring it back to my team to see if this is something we want to shut off.
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: cannot install anythingYes. I have no idea how, but I had to talk to someone at the host and they fixed it.

In reply to: lost access to dashboardOkay, not sure what happened to the other reply here, but it’s gone and is the one that helped me resolve the issue. It wasn’t a plugin, but a theme that was causing the issue, but deleting that theme fixed it. That post also recommended Cadence and GeneratePress, both of which I’ve worked with.

In reply to: cannot install anythingWell, I’m not sure what the host did here, but for some reason I couldn’t make any permission changes so had to contact them and it was fixed.
Sorry for the delay on this, have had a lot on my mind lately. It looks like I forgot to expand the smart tags when I sent the last screenshot. Here’s an updated screenshot. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/p44ar5bljugtme8kbvrl9/2023-09-12.png?rlkey=6wo9y88qtyxox1khvr85rousi&dl=0
Here’s the screenshot of my notifications panel as you asked.
Additionally, here’s a screenshot of my mail app with the show original page displayed.
Okay, now this is weird. I took a look at the notification settings like you asked, and discovered that I needed to change the reply to option there to read the email field. Once I did that, I sent myself a test message, and while the reply to field actually now shows the correct email address (in the test case being my personal one) but when I actually go to reply, it’s still sending the reply to the from email address of the form.
I just took a look at the page for which I sent you the screenshot, and there’s nothing there. From what I can tell, you got the entire page in the last screenshot. Additionally, in GMail’s interface, I can usually tell if the reply to email address is different, and it is not in this case. If it is, I will usually see “reply to: insert email”, and I do not see that when looking at the email for which I sent you the screenshot. Also, heads up that I will be going out of town tomorrow and won’t be back until next Saturday.
Sorry for the long delay in my reply here, I thought I had posted the link but it appears the spam filter removed it. Any possibility of notifying the user somehow that this happens so they’re not wondering why there hasn’t been a reply? https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/07t37ctglrfxi5869bojy/2023-08-07.png?rlkey=t9nt9dcsz1fsjdv69o91juj7s&dl=0
