CustomWPNinjas solved my speed issue and then some! I moved my site to their hosting from Yahoo and, with a free health check on their part, the site is now wicked fast!

Issue resolved!

SEO had nothing to do with it. A few weeks earlier I installed a plugin that converted each page to html for faster loading, It initially helped but this particular plugin apparently didn’t work properly after awhile. Once I deactivated and uninstalled the plugin the site worked fine, redirect and all.

I implemented the above code changes and nothing broke but GA still says, “Your Analytics tracking code does not include the necessary support for the Demographics and Interest reports.”

The beauty of Yoast’s plugin is that you don’t have to add tracking code to each page or header.

Still waiting for an elegant solution…

The temporary workaround proposed by kaleholdings in the other thread didn’t work for me or another user.

I guess we are resigned to wait for Yoast to come out with an update.

I’m stuck with Yahoo for at least another 9 months. I wonder if a significant number of Yahoo customers using WordPress could expedite their decision to upgrade MySQL?
