Problem solved!
Definitely a conflict. So, here is what I did to get it working:
Trashed all Emails related to Tickets
Trashed All Tickets
Trashed the test user
Plugin: New User Approve is still disabled.
WP Security (All-In-One) > Reinstated Manual Approval and saved SettingsWent to test WebSite (localhost)
Clicked on Submit Ticket
Set up Test User, Email, Password and clicked Create Account
Placed Text in my new Ticket
Clicked Submit and then logged outAgain at test WebSite (local host)
Clicked on My Tickets
Login was refused with message: Account Pending…. (as expected)Email Checking:
First is Request Received
Second is #737 Ticket Assigned – so all is good so farLogged into WPAdmin
Ticked #737 is there
AIO SEO has good description (not showing pending)
Dashboard > Users – Test user is present (no option to approve)
Clicked to Edit and was taken to User Profile where I changed Nickname and Display Name > UpdateWP Security > User Registration
Test user shows with Status = pending
Clicked Approve and confirmedEmail check
Third Email shows Your account is now activeTest User can now log in and add to his ticket.
WPAdmin examination of Ticket shows status as expected and does not show the still pending so all seems to be good.
Conclusion:
I now have a reasonable process for Manually approving new users and have a fully operational Awesome Support…AWESOME!
– Toss New User Approve Plugin in favor of continued use of facilities within WP Security
– Use WP Security features to Approve New UserThis may be of use to someone else, so thank you again for your assistance. You did get me on the right track and it worked out.
Disabled New User Approve Plugin but I think I may be looking in the wrong direction. On the far right of m Ticket Info, there is a column for AIOSEO Details. This is where I am seeing ‘Description:?Membership Approval is still pending’. It does not seem to affect the user experience in any way as the user can log in / out, view Ticket, reply to ticket, etc.
Perhaps I should not worry about this at all but it just seems so strange! and I still don’t know what might be causing it.
WP Users shows this test user iwth the Role of Support User and looks normal. since the user has no problem interacting with my site, I have to assume (dangerous) that there are no issues there.
I have enabled New User Approve plugin as this does not appear to play a part in this issue.
Thanks for your suggestions. Any further help you could offer would be appreciated.
